ABS warning light on Opel Adam 2016: experience and tips wanted

ABS/DSC system is not working

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Fault stored

ABS warning light

Hey guys, I have a problem with my Opel Adam, year of manufacture 2016, gasoline engine, with a mileage of 159654 km. The ABS warning light is flashing, the ABS/DSC system is not working and there is a warning light in the speedometer. Apparently an error is stored in the ASC system. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at my last visit to the mechanic and wanted to ask here: Have any of you had similar problems? What was your experience at the mechanic? I would appreciate any tips and opinions!

Hey buddy, yes, I had a similar problem with my 2017 Opel Astra. The ABS/DSC system also spun and the same warning light came on. The error was also stored in the ASC system. I then went to the garage and they found that the ASC relay was faulty. Replacing the relay solved the problem. It was a serious matter, as the ABS/DSC system is very important for safety. But don't worry, everything ran smoothly again after the replacement. I would recommend that you visit your nearest independent garage. Stay safe and have it repaired as quickly as possible!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! It's really reassuring to know that I'm not the only one with this problem. I'll follow the advice and visit a garage quickly. Can you remember how much the replacement of the ASC relay set you back? And have you had any problems with the ABS/DSC system since then? Your experience would really help me.

Hey, now that the mechanic has fixed the fault with the ASC system, everything is running like clockwork again. The faulty ASC relay cost me €90, so it was definitely less painful than expected! And no, there have been no further problems with the ABS/DSC system since the repair. Sure, it's still a bit annoying to have to spend money on repairs, but with important safety systems like the ABS/DSC, you shouldn't hesitate. So, off to the garage with you, and good luck!

Thanks for the helpful information! A price of €90 really doesn't sound too bad, and I'm glad to hear that there have been no further problems since. Safety definitely comes first, and it's probably better to spend money on the repair now than more on major damage later. I will go to the garage first thing tomorrow and hope they can fix the problem as quickly as they did in your case. Thanks again for your advice!
