ABS warning light

Hello everyone! I'm worried about my 2007 VW Golf Plus (gasoline engine with approx. 145,817 km mileage). My ABS warning light is on and the ABS/DSC system is not working. Apart from that, the warning light in the speedometer also shows a problem and there is a fault stored. I suspect the failure of the wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) could be the culprit. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and how did it go at the mechanic? I'm curious to hear about your experiences, as I didn't have such good ones last time. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Touran. The ABS light was also on and the mechanic eventually identified the ABS sensor as the problem. It was a serious problem as driving without ABS can be risky, especially in wet and snowy conditions. Of course, if the warning light comes on, it is important to take the car to the garage as soon as possible. Once the sensor had been replaced, everything was fine again. In any case, you should have it looked at as soon as possible. Hope this helps you!

Thank you for your feedback! I'm reassured to know that it was okay again after the sensor change. Can you remember how much the replacement and repair cost you? And has anything else occurred with the ABS/DSC system since then? I really want to avoid any more problems coming my way. Thank you!

Sure, I can still remember it. The repair of the ABS sensor cost me around €1000. But nothing has happened since then. Since the workshop visit, the thing has been running like clockwork again and the failure of the wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) has been fixed. So it was definitely worth the money. So don't worry, just get it repaired and everything should work again. You just have to shell out a bit of cash!

Thanks again for the information. Of course, €1000 sounds a lot, but if it's fixed and doesn't occur again, it's worth it. I will definitely take my Golf Plus to the garage as soon as possible. Your experience has really helped me and eased my worries a little. Thank you and have a great day!

Hello What does the error code mean? Servo no longer works red steering wheel lights up on the dashboard. Code DTC_01309 Mfg Christian Pescosta

The error code DTC_01309 typically indicates a communication issue with the steering assist module. This can cause the power steering to stop working, which is a safety concern. First, check the battery and alternator to ensure they are providing adequate power, as low voltage can cause communication errors. If the battery and alternator are fine, it might be necessary to inspect the wiring and connections to the steering module for any damage or loose connections. If you're unsure or the issue persists, it's important to have a professional mechanic inspect the vehicle to ensure safe operation. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions!
