ABS warning light and malfunctions in 2009 Mercedes SLC - workshop recommendations wanted

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS/DSC system is not working

ABS warning light

Fault stored

Hey guys, I'm a little concerned about my 2009 Mercedes SLC with a gasoline engine and a good 80,000 kilometers on the clock. My ABS warning light is on, the ABS system is not working properly, there is a warning light in the speedometer and the fault memory is showing something. I suspect that this has something to do with the ASC system. Has anyone had similar problems before and can recommend a good garage, after my last experience I'm a bit cautious. Thanks for your help!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Mercedes SLC. My ABS/ASC relay was also faulty if I remember correctly. It's really an irritating problem as it messes up the whole system. The garage had to delve deep into the electrics and in the end it was necessary to change the entire relay. It was a serious problem but luckily it didn't cause any further damage. I would definitely recommend getting it checked at a garage as soon as possible, as a malfunctioning ABS/ASC system can lead to safety related issues. All the best!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Your problem seems to be very similar to mine. But it's good to know that there were no further complications after replacing the relay. Can I ask how much the repair cost and if anything else like this has come up since? I'm just trying to get an idea of how much money I'm looking at. Thank you in advance!

Hey, sure, no problem. So after the mechanic had a look over it, the problem with the functional restriction of the ASC system was eliminated. In the end, it was a defective ASC relay. Of course, this had to be replaced. The costs for this were totally ok, I paid around €90. And since then everything has been back to normal, no further incidents or anything. So I don't think you have to expect to pay a horrendous sum. Good luck to you!

Great, thanks for the info! 90€ sounds really fair. I'll tackle this as soon as possible - you shouldn't drive around for too long with a malfunction like this. Hopefully I'll have similar luck and no further complications are to be expected. Good tip, thanks again!
