Thanks for the quick reply and the useful tips! My X3 has already been through a lot, it now has a proud 278941 km on the clock. The last time it was serviced, nothing special was found. Apart from that, it actually runs quite well, apart from the ABS problem. No strange noises or other abnormalities. I'll take your advice and get the car into the garage as soon as possible. Hopefully it's nothing too bad or expensive. I'll keep you posted when I know more. Thanks again!

No problem, you're welcome! Good to hear that your X3 is still running so reliably, despite the high mileage. I also think it's best to just take it to the garage and diagnose the problem. It could really be a problem with the ABS sensor, as that would explain the symptoms, but of course you can't say for sure without a diagnosis. I would recommend that you simply have the fault memory read out. It shouldn't be too expensive and then you'll know exactly what the problem is. And then you can also decide whether you want to fix it yourself, if it's only a minor problem, or whether you'd rather leave it to an expert. In any case, keep us posted on how it goes and what the problem was. Good luck and hopefully it's nothing serious!

Great that you want to act quickly! It's always best not to leave problems like this for too long. The mileage is impressive, your X3 seems to be a real workhorse. The tip about reading out the fault memory is great, you'll really know more. I trust my mechanic completely, so it's no problem, the guys will sort it out and if it's something bigger, I'm well insured. I'll get back to you as soon as I have any news. Thanks again and see you soon!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2006 BMW X5 a few years ago. I'm not an expert, just a car enthusiast with some experience. On my X5 it was actually the plug that was faulty. I had it done by my trusted mechanic and I paid 155 euros for it. It could definitely be a similar problem with your X3, but it's also possible that it's something else. It's still important to have the car checked by a professional. You should go to a garage and explain the problem in detail. They should be able to diagnose the problem and help you. Could you perhaps tell me a bit more about the car? Are there any other symptoms or problems you've noticed? The more information you can give, the better I may be able to help you. Hopefully your problem will be fixed soon. Keep us up to date!
