Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hi there, I've got a 2020 Mitsubishi Space Star (gasoline) with about 69k km on the clock, and I'm having some concerning issues. The ABS and DSC warnings have popped up on my dash, along with a speedometer warning light. The ABS and stability control aren't functioning properly anymore. My last experience with a mechanic wasn't great, so I'm looking for some advice before heading to a shop. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms with their Space Star? What was the actual problem and how much did the repair cost? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2017 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross last year. My ABS and DSC lights came on together, and the stability control wasn't working right. After diagnosing at the shop, it turned out to be a faulty ASC relay unit, pretty common issue actually. In my case, they found the relay was getting corroded and sending wrong signals to the system. The fix wasn't super complicated, but it needed specific diagnostic equipment to properly reset the system after replacing the relay. It took them about half a day to sort everything out. This isn't typically a catastrophic problem, but you definitely want to get it fixed since it affects your safety systems. The symptoms you're describing match what I experienced exactly. Just make sure you go to a shop that's familiar with Mitsubishi's ASC systems. Hope this helps with your situation!

Hey, thanks so much for sharing your experience! It's really helpful since I've been worried about this issue. Could you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, just curious, has everything been running smoothly since they fixed it, or have you noticed any other quirks?

Hey again! Happy to help! Yeah, I remember the cost well, it was 90€ total to fix the ASC relay. Pretty reasonable considering it was a safety-related repair. And I've got good news for you, since getting it fixed last year, everything's been running perfectly! No more warning lights, and the stability control is working exactly as it should. It was definitely worth getting it sorted out properly. I've put about 15,000 km on the car since then without any problems with the ASC system. My Eclipse Cross has been totally reliable since the repair, no quirks or issues at all. The mechanic did a great job diagnosing and fixing it. Just make sure whoever works on yours knows their way around Mitsubishi's systems, and you should be good to go! Let me know if you need anything else!

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate you sharing all those details about your repair. Your experience has made me feel much better about getting mine fixed. Actually, I just got back from the mechanic today. Turns out it was pretty much the same issue as yours, a faulty ASC relay. My bill came to 110 € though, a bit more than yours but still reasonable. The mechanic was really professional and explained everything clearly. They had it done in about 4 hours, and so far everything's working perfectly. All the warning lights are gone, and the stability control is back to normal. Such a relief to have it sorted! Thanks again for your help, it really gave me the confidence to get it checked out properly instead of putting it off. Take care!
