Hi, thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful, sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. I'm actually planning to take it to an EV-certified garage tomorrow. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the sensor replacement and calibration? Also, has everything been running smoothly since the repair, or have you noticed any other issues popping up? Cheers!
Hey again! Glad I could help earlier! Yeah, I got it all sorted with the wheel speed sensor, and I can tell you exactly what it cost me, ended up paying 260€ for the whole job. That covered both the new sensor and the labor to get everything calibrated properly. Not cheap, but definitely worth it for the peace of mind! Since getting it fixed, my Corsa-e's been running like a dream, no more warning lights, ABS is working perfectly, and the speedometer's back to being spot-on. Honestly, it's such a relief not seeing those warning lights pop up every time I start the car! Haven't had a single issue since the repair, and it's been about a month now. Just make sure your garage does a proper calibration after replacing the sensor, that's really important for these EVs. But sounds like you're on the right track heading to an EV-certified place. They should sort you out no problem! Let me know how it goes tomorrow!
Thanks a lot for all the info! Just got back from the garage and wanted to give you an update. You were spot on about everything! Took it to EV Masters downtown, they diagnosed it right away as a faulty wheel speed sensor, just like yours. The mechanic was really honest and showed me the corroded sensor. Ended up paying 285€, which wasn't too bad considering what you mentioned. Funny story though, while I was waiting, another Mokka pulled in with almost the exact same issue! Got chatting with the owner and apparently it's quite common with these models. The mechanic did a great job explaining everything, and even showed me what to watch out for in the future. Car's running perfectly now, no more warning lights, and everything's working as it should. Such a relief! Really appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction. Thanks again for sharing your experience, saved me a lot of worry!
Hey there! Had a similar issue with my 2018 Vauxhall Corsa-e last month. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, ABS light, DSC warnings, and funky speedometer readings. Took it to my regular garage that specializes in EVs. Turned out it was indeed the front right wheel speed sensor that was defective. The sensor was completely corroded and wasn't sending proper signals to the ABS module. They had to replace the entire sensor unit and recalibrate the system. It wasn't a majorly serious issue, but definitely not something you want to ignore since it affects your car's safety systems. The repair itself took about 2 hours. Make sure you find a garage that's certified for EV work, they'll have the right diagnostic tools and expertise. Just FYI, with that mileage on your Mokka, it's not unusual for these sensors to start failing. They're exposed to road debris and weather conditions all the time. Hope this helps!
