Thanks for sharing your experience. That fuel injector issue sounds very similar to what I had with my Audi A4 last winter. The emissions were terrible and engine misfires made driving really unpleasant. A thorough cleaning fixed three injectors but one needed replacement due to complete clogging. Did the fix hold up over time for you? And can you recall what the total cost was for the service? Just wondering since Im tracking expenses for preventive maintenance to avoid future engine problems.

After getting the injection valve issue resolved on my A3, the vehicle has been running perfectly for over a year now. The repair shop found one completely clogged nozzle that was causing frequent misfires and poor emissions performance. The total bill came to 515 Euro, which included cleaning three injectors and replacing the defective one. The diesel engine now starts immediately, maintains steady power, and fuel consumption has returned to normal levels. Worth every cent considering how the clogging was affecting overall engine performance. Regular fuel system maintenance since then has helped prevent any recurrence of injection problems. I'd say early intervention is key, catching these issues before they cause more extensive engine damage definitely saves money in the long run. The improved emissions and eliminated misfires show it was the right call to get it properly diagnosed and fixed by a specialized shop.

Thanks for the input. Finally got my A4 sorted out last week after finding a specialist shop. They did a complete fuel system diagnosis and turns out I was right about the injectors. The mechanic showed me how three were just partially working and one was totally shot. The repair took about 4 hours. They cleaned the three salvageable injectors and replaced the dead one. Cost me 480 Euro but the performance difference is like night and day. No more misfires, starts right up every time, and my fuel consumption is back to normal. Had some other quotes ranging from 350 Euro to 600 Euro but went with this shop because they specializes in injection systems and had the right diagnostic equipment. Really glad I didnt try to save money by going with a general repair shop that might have missed something. Been driving for a week now and the engine runs perfectly. Will definitely keep up with regular maintenance to avoid future issues.

Had similar issues with my A3 2.0 FSI from 2006. The symptoms matched exactly, rough idle, increased fuel consumption, and frequent engine misfires. Diagnostic tests confirmed multiple dirty injectors causing irregular fuel spray patterns. The repair involved ultrasonic cleaning of all injectors and replacement of two that were beyond salvaging. Performance improved significantly after the service, engine started smoothly, idle stabilized, and power delivery returned to normal. This was a serious issue that required immediate attention since dirty injectors can lead to carbon buildup and eventual engine damage. The process requires specialized equipment for proper testing and cleaning. Clearing the fault codes after service is essential to reset the engine management system. Most shops can do basic injector cleaning, but finding one with proper diagnostic tools for injection systems is crucial for accurate assessment. Would suggest getting a complete fuel system diagnosis. The symptoms indicate clogged injectors, but other components like the fuel pump or pressure regulator could also be contributing factors. Regular fuel system maintenance helps prevent these issues from developing.
