Hi, thanks for your feedback! My Audi has already done its 187654 km. Nothing was mentioned about the EGR valve at the last service, but I think it could still be the culprit. Your garage experience doesn't sound that encouraging, man, that can get expensive. Hopefully I can find a solution that won't be so expensive. Thanks again and have a nice day!

Hey again, I feel you man, it's always a bummer when unexpected costs pop up like that. But if it really is the EGR valve that's causing you the trouble, then there's probably no getting around a repair or replacement. Unfortunately, the costs can vary quite a bit, depending on how complicated the installation is in your particular model and whether you may need other parts, such as a new set of seals. I would advise you to call a few different garages in your area and ask them for a quote. This will give you a rough idea of the costs you can expect. What else I can tell you: You could really feel a clear difference in my A4 afterwards. The jerking at idle was gone and the exhaust didn't smell as bad. So, despite the cost, it's definitely worth considering. Stay tuned and keep us up to date with your plans! Stay strong and take care of yourself!

Hey, thanks for the encouraging words and the tip about the estimate. I will definitely do that. I didn't realize it could be so complex, hopefully it's less expensive on my A3 and doesn't require any more replacement parts. It's great to hear that your car ran much better afterwards - always reassuring to know that a solution was worth the stress. Yeah, sure, I'll continue to keep you posted! Thanks again and you take care of yourself too! See you then!

What are your experiences? Have you already been able to locate and rectify the fault? I currently have a similar problem with my vehicle and am hoping for some helpful advice here.

Hey, so I drive a 2007 Audi A4 diesel, so pretty similar to yours. I don't have much experience with cars, but I had a similar problem. My EGR valve was also defective and jammed. I then had it fixed at an independent garage near me. It was quite a job, but well, what can you do, the car has to run. In the end, it cost me about 355 euros. Of course, you may have more problems, but it's hard to say without more information. Could you perhaps provide more information about your car? For example, how many kilometers has it covered and when was the last inspection? Then we here in the forum might be able to help you better. Best regards!
