Hiya! First off, thanks for sharing your experience, it's super helpful. My situation with my Tarraco sounds a bit like yours with the Arona. I did consider the electrical issue aspect, but never thought the battery could be the culprit. Seems I might have overlooked it. Do you recall how much the battery replacement set you back? And also, has anything else cropped up since you swapped out the old battery? Get back to me when you can. Cheers!
Hey! You're welcome, glad I could help. As for the battery replacement on my Arona, it cost me around 290€. I know, seems a bit steep for a battery, but it was the best decision, really. Rid me of that annoying warn sign and everything's been running as smooth as silk since then. As for your second question, nothing’s cropped up since the swap. And guess what? That issue I was mumbling about, the rear window heating thing, that was a separate problem which also got sorted out by the mechanic. All in all, I'd say it was money well spent. So, I’d suggest getting the battery of your Tarraco examined and go from there. Hope it all works out for you, too!
Appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. Wow, 290€, huh? That's a bit rich for my blood but I guess if it's a sure-shot solution to these niggling problems, then it's worth it. Also, glad to hear about your window heating issue getting sorted. That's given me hope! I'll definitely get my Tarraco's battery checked out as you suggested. Perhaps that would clear up the persistent fault sign and hopefully, other potential problems. You've been a great help. And fingers crossed that I don't have to wrestle with any more auto issues for a bit. Cheers!
Hey there! So, last year I was in a similar fix with my 2020 Seat Arona, a petrol one, though. Experienced something similar with the warning sign that wouldn't disappear. Thought it could be an electrical issue or something. That mechanic I went to diagnosed it as a weak battery issue. He sorted it out by replacing the battery. In my case, it wasn't an issue with the rear window heating function, just the battery not having enough juice to power everything properly. I initially thought it was pretty serious, but nah, it was a simple swap out. The bloke told me that the battery lives kinda vary, especially considering the overall usage and conditions. And since it's all fixed up, haven't had an issue since. Guess from my experience, you might wanna check your battery's output before looking at other possibilities. Good luck with it!
