Hey there! Wow, your experience closely mirrors mine, this ABS issue can really rattle your nerves huh? I hadn't even thought about the ABS control unit being a potential problem-so thanks for pointing that out! Just out of curiosity, do you recall approximately how much the repair set you back? Also, has the issue, or something related, recurred since the garage fixed it? Cheers!
Hey! You ain't kidding about that ABS messing with your peace of mind, aren't ya? In my case, after heading to the garage, they found out that indeed the Wheel speed sensor issue was fixed. On the money part, well, ain't gonna lie, it set me back quite a bit. To be precise, it cost me about 1000 euro to get that blasted ABS control unit sorted, pretty penny huh? But hey, it's a vital part we're talking about here, so it's not something you've gotta cheap out on. As for your other question - Nope, no more trouble since then, fingers crossed. So, believe me when I say it was worth every cent. Don't lose faith in your mechanic just yet. Best of luck getting your Arkana back to its best! Take care!
Hey! You're not wrong about that cost, even if it's essential, it can be quite a sting in the wallet. But hearing that it was more of a one-time fix and you haven't had trouble since does give me some peace of mind. It sounds like it's time for me to swallow my aversion and contact a good mechanic again. Hopefully, I can find one who's reliable as yours! Thanks for sharing your experience, it's been really helpful. Good to know I'm not alone in this. Take care! Cheers.
Hey! I've got a 2020 Renault Kadjar, not too far off from your Arkana. I actually had a similar issue a year or two back. ABS light popped up out of nowhere and got me scratching my head for a while. I thought it could be the wheel speed sensor too, but turns out the actual culprit was the ABS control unit. To make it short, the unit was defective. And, if you're a novice at car repairs like me, it's not exactly the easiest task to diagnose, let alone fix. Had to get the help from a garage, where the mechanic found out that the unit wasn't communicating properly with the other systems. So, it was a bit of a serious issue since the ABS control unit is pretty crucial for your braking system, especially in situations where you need to brake hard or on slippery roads. But once it was identified, the garage sorted it pretty quick. Didn't have any more ABS/DSC warnings since then. So, I'd say give the garage another shot. Sometimes it's just about finding the right people who know their stuff. Hope you sort it out soon!
