Whew, that sounds like a rough ride. I did face something similar with my previous Volvo. Incorrect engine oil, warning lights, the whole shebang. All it really needed was an oil system cleanup and thankfully, the issue didn't recur. Out of curiosity, do you remember what this clean-up and fix-up job cost you at the mechanic? And has anything else popped up since then? Just want to be sure I know what I might be up against. Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious for my S90! Appreciate your help, bud.

Hey, Glad to hear you managed to sort it out with your previous Volvo. Tackling the same issue with my S60 Cross Country wasn't too light on the pocket, though. For the complete cleanup of the oil system, it cost me around 175€. That's to get the incorrect oil out and the right stuff in. Not exactly a steal, huh? But on the bright side, since I've fixed this, I haven't run into the 'Engine oil pressure too low' warning anymore. The car's been running as smooth as ever, no new hitches! Which is a huge relief cause those flashing lights were making me lose more than just sleep. Just hope your S90 doesn't give you too much trouble. Best of luck! Get that thing checked out asap to avoid any bigger problems down the line. Cheers!

Dang, €175- that's more than a pinch out of the pocket! But, if it does the trick and gets the Volvo running smooth again, it's worth it. Glad to know yours is back in shape with no hang-ups since then. You're absolutely right, best to nip this in the bud before it turns into a full-blown crisis. Guess I'll bite the bullet and stop by the mechanic tomorrow to get this whole mess sorted out. Your words brought a dose of reassurance. I'll keep you posted on how it unfolds. Many thanks for the insightful advice, truly a lifesaver at this point. Let's hope my S90 doesn't kick up a fuss. Wish me luck! Cheers.

Hey there, I ran into a similar issue recently with my 2019 Volvo S60 Cross Country. Oil light was blinking, and the warning signals on the dashboard were literally turning my face pale. The issue turned out to be the wrong engine oil. Hope it's not the same with you, coz it's a nightmare. Had to get the complete engine oil system cleaned up to get rid of the incorrect oil. Those metallic bits in oil you mentioned, I had 'em too. The mechanic clarified, those were tiny parts from the engine which had loosened due to that wrong oil type. This issue was severe, no doubt, and had to be attended immediately. It's really damaging to the vehicle engine, and that increases the risk of a mishap. Make sure your mechanic checks the oil type and oil pressure thoroughly. Best of luck, hope your ride gets back in shape soon. No worries!
