2022 Renault Arkana Starting and Stalling Issues: Potential Vehicle Lock Malfunction

Car won't start

Vehicle starts briefly and goes out again

Hey everyone! I've got a bit of a puzzler with my 2022 Renault Arkana (Gasoline engine). It's been having issues lately, as it doesn't want to start up and when it does, it quickly stalls out again. I've got a hunch that this could be due to some sort of vehicle lock malfunction, but I'm not 100% on that. Have any of you faced a similar issue with your car? If so, how you got it rectified at the workshop? Any input would be much appreciated. Cheers!

Hey, I've got a 2020 Renault Koleos (Unique diesel engine) and had a similar issue once. I'm not a pro with cars but I know my way around them. So, this stubborn issue of mine ended up being a problem with the key programming. Took it to my regular workshop and for 45 euro, it was fixed. By any chance have you changed your key or did any work on the lock system recently? That might give us some more clues to your issue. Can you share more details about your car? Like how many miles it has run, recent changes or repairs? Cheers!

Hello! Really appreciate the quick reply and your insights. My Arkana hasn't gone too far, just 17885 km. There's been no recent changes or messing around with the key or locking system. It's strange though, got its routine checks done as scheduled and everything seemed just fine then. Guess I might have to fork out some euro to get this sorted out at the workshop, eh! Cheers!

Hey again, It's really a weird situation, isn't it? I understand you've done your routine checks regularly and haven't tampered with the key or lock, so it doesn't sound like a vehicle lock malfunction now. My Koleos had a similar issue around the 20,000 km mark and it was due to the fuel pump. Sometimes, these pumps can fail or get clogged, making it hard for the engine to get enough fuel and resulting in your problem. But, of course, it could be a million different things, car troubles aren't always straightforward, are they? Before taking your ride to the workshop and spending a bunch of euro, maybe give it a check? Who knows, you might stumble upon the issue. If not, then at least you can rule it out before the car goes into the shop. Keep us posted and good luck! Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for the advice! The fuel pump issue sounds more likely now that you mention it. I wouldn't have thought to check that, so cheers for the tip! Before running to the garage and blowing my hard-earned euro, I'll certainly give it a look. Hopefully, I can get this mystery solved. Will keep you guys updated with how it goes. Thanks for your help again, appreciate it a lot! Cheers!
