Hey, thanks for chiming in. Your Kadjar experience sounds almost identical to what I'm dealing with my Arkana right now. I've also suspected it might be the camshaft sensor causing all these problems. Relieved to hear it's not a super major issue, though not exactly a walk in the park either. Just out of curiosity, do you recall roughly how much your mechanic charged for the diagnostics and sensor replacement? Also, since you got it sorted, has anything else come up? Or is your Kadjar running smoothly without any more issues? Cheers!
Hey there, glad to see my previous experience's giving you some peace of mind. About the costs, it ran me about 695€ to get the camshaft sensor wheel fixed. Not exactly a tiny sum, but given the mess it was causing, getting it sorted was a no-brainer. Ever since the mechanic did their magic, the Kadjar's been running like a champ, no more issues or anything else popping up. Fixed camshaft sensor seems to have done the trick! So, reckon you shouldn't have to worry about any other surprises once you get that sensor wheel fixed up. All the best with your Arkana! Cheers!
Oh wow, that's some relief! Thanks a ton. It's good to know it won't set me back as much as I was anticipating. Your experience gives me hope that once this sensor wheel issue is resolved, my Arkana will be back to its usual self without any surprise problems. Going to book an appointment with my mechanic right away. All the best with your Kadjar! Cheers!
Hey, I've got a 2019 Renault Kadjar and experienced just that a while ago. Engine light was on, car was stalling randomly, plus the starting issue you mentioned. I initially thought it might be to do with the spark plugs or something, but my mechanic found out it was a faulty camshaft sensor wheel. Turns out, this sensor plays a big role in engine timing and fuel injection, hence the symptoms. It was a bit of work getting it sorted, required engine diagnostics and then sensor replacement, all based on my mechanic's advice. Wasn't the most minor of situations, but it wasn't super major either. The important part is to get it sorted out sooner rather than later to avoid any further damage to the engine. As for the mechanic, you'll want one who's good with Renaults and knows their stuff when it comes to camshaft sensor issues. Hope your Arkana is back to normal soon. Cheers!
