2022 Nissan Note Diesel Check Engine Light & DPF Regeneration Failure: Potential Causes and Solutions

DPF regeneration failure

Check engine light on

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey folks, I've got a 2022 Nissan Note, diesel, clocking a high 199,566 km. Recently, the check engine light popped up along with a DPF regeneration failure message and a warning light on the speedo. Kinda suspect it's due to an empty Ad Blue tank. Anyone else faced something similar and how did your mechanic deal with it? Just a bit jittery after some not-so-great experience with my last mechanic, y'know. Cheers!

Hey there, Noticed your query and it struck a chord with my 2019 Nissan Juke situation. This diesel burnout was also showing me the "Ad-blue level too low" warning sign. Scary as hell to see those lights flickering on your dash, eh? Started by diving into some forums, a bit like you. Then found a local mechanic who identified the issue straight away. Turns out my Ad-Blue tank was running super low, similar to your hunch. They ended up refilling the tank and rebooting the DPF regeneration process. Also resetted the warning lights in the vehicle system. Whole process took up a couple of hours or so, was kinda like giving the car a new lease of life. And it wasn't a deadly issue actually, though ignoring might not be a good idea. Keep in mind though, it always could be something else triggering the lights, so it's a good idea to consult a knowledgeable mechanic, make sure they've got experience with the Nissan breed. Good luck with it! Take care.

Hey! Got your message and it made me think back to a similar sitch I had with my 2019 Nissan Leaf. Those dash lights can give you a right scare, can't they? Interesting to hear about your Ad-Blue issue though, 'cause my scenario was slightly different. I actually had some clogged DPF filters that was causing the DPF regeneration failure. My mechanic cleaned the filters out, and that seemed to sort the issue out. Now tell me, you mentioned the process took a couple of hours, which doesn't sound too insane, but I'm curious about the hit to your wallet. What was the damage if you don't mind sharing? And have you noticed any other funny business going on with the car after the fix? Stay safe!

Hey! Ah, your DPF filter situation rings a bell - different story, similar scare, huh? About the damage you're asking for, it wasn't as catastrophic as you'd expect. The Ad-Blue tank fix along with the DPF tweak landed me a bill of 65€. Not too shabby, I reckon. And to give you some peace of mind, haven't noticed anything else acting the fool since my ride bounced back from the mechanic's place – feels almost like I'm driving a brand new Nissan! Just remember, ignoring these warning lights can make a small issue balloon into a big one. And since we are on it, make sure you've got a good mechanic having a gander at your car. Experience matters. Take it easy, stay safe on the road!

Hey! That's some relief! Thanks for sharing both yours and the other freinds experiences, folks. I appreciate the head’s up about possible looming issues along with the intel on potential costs. 65€ isn't as horrifying as I was fretting. Your experiences are giving me a bit more peace about the whole business. I’ve got a mechanic in mind who's dealt with some dolphin-nose beauties in the past, reckon he might be on par with your knowledgeable blokes. Setting up an appointment now, planning to nip this issue in the bud. So cheers to you both take care and happy driving!
