Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience - that really takes the edge off my worry a bit. Nice to know it might just be as simple as a cable connection problem. It's interesting how small issues can sometimes wreak such havoc, right? By any chance, do you recall roughly how much you had to shell out for the fix? Also, since then, has anything else related to this malfunction cropped up or was it smooth-sailing once they replaced the defective plug? Your insights are really helping out. My Tarraco will be grateful!
Hi there! I totally get where you're coming from; sometimes it's the most insignificant things that cause the most stress, right? Answering your question, the bill for sorting out the defective cable connection came around to about 155€. Not exactly pennies, but considering it fixed the issue, I’d say it was worth it. Fingers crossed it's something as straightforward for your Tarraco. And yeah, since the mechanic had a go at it, I haven’t had a single problem with the mirror or its heater. Couldn't have asked for a smoother ride after the fix! Here's hoping your ordeal ends as favorably as mine did. P.S. Your Tarraco is in my good thought. Let's have it back at its best soon!
That's a relief to hear! Good ol' Murphy and his law always seem to be lurking around the corner. At least now I’m somewhat familiar with the cost, so my wallet won't get an unwelcome surprise. Thanks for recalling all that. And since you've not had any trouble with it since, I'm hoping my Tarraco follows suit. At the very least, now I've got some idea of what to expect and I feel better prepared. Fingers crossed for everything going smoothly. Appreciate the help and good vibes. Will keep everyone posted. Here’s to ending this defrosting debacle! Cheers!
Hey there! I had a similar problem with my 2018 Seat Leon last year. I was also facing trouble with the defrosting, but in my case, it wasn’t the exterior mirror or its heater. Actually, the issue turned out to be a defective cable connection/plug. When I first noticed the issue, I thought it was a serious one, but turns out it was a pretty standard fix. Once the guys at my garage diagnosed it, they replaced the defective cable connection/plug on my car, and it started working perfectly fine again. They didn't have to deal with any major components, so luckily, the complete work did not take much time. Given that our cars are of the same brand, albeit different models, it’s worth considering this possibility. Of course, each case is unique, but a similar fix might just do the trick for your Tarraco. Just don't leave it for another day, a defective plug can lead to other issues down the road. Take care and happy motoring!
