Hey there, I'm also dealing with a similar monkey wrench in my own '21 Seat Tarraco. Kinda uncanny, since our cars are practically siblings. Based on the feedback you gave, I'm speculating I might be wrestling with the same water pump shenanigans that you had with your Ateca. Just between us, what was the damage to your bank account when all was said and done? Has anything else pop up since? Cheers! Keep on rolling!
Hey, good to see you here! Well, regarding the cash splash, I have to admit it wasn't too shabby. 155 notes (Euro to be precise), and that covered the whole nine yards - diagnosis, sorting out that dodgy cable connection/plug of the water pump, and the labor. Since then, that bewildering "message between control devices" error got a proper spanking, hasn't reared its ugly head again. As for other surprise parties from my Ateca, she's been a real queen, running smooth as ever. Hope the same for your Tarraco. Sounds like she needs a good ol' mechanic visit! Keep us up to speed, yeah? Drive safe!
Hey, thanks for sharing your experiences and giving me the piece of advice, it's massively valuable. Your Ateca's trouble does sound eerily similar to what I'm wrestling with my Tarraco. 155 Euro doesn't sound too rough, fair to say it's worth it to keep the old girl running smoothly. Sounds like it's time to set a date with the mechanic; I'd rather not play chicken with potentially bigger problems down the road. Fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious. I appreciate y'all for helping me out over here in this forum! Will keep you guys posted on the progress. Happy driving!
Hey, firstly, don't panic! Could be something or nothing, but definitely needs checking out. The symptoms you mentioned got me instantly thinking about my own experience with a 2018 Seat Ateca. Similar scenario, got the flashy lights, engine boiling up, coolant didn't stay put. Took it to the old garage, and after they wrestled with it, turned out to be a faulty cable connection/plug on the water pump. It was making the ECU think it was getting too hot, mishandling the coolant and causing your possible control device message error. Considering the labor they put into diagnose and fix it, yes, it was somewhat serious, and it's something that should be rectified ASAP. Water pump issues can potentially harm the engine in the long run if left unattended. However, the guys didn't seem too concerned once they figured it out - just seemed like a fairly routine fix for them. Hope it's the same for your Tarraco man. Keep us posted! Cheers!
