2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid: Troubleshooting Problems with Wipers and Headlight Cleaning System

Wipers don't work properly

|

Headlight cleaning system without function

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, I'm seeing some odd behavior from my 2021 Renault Arkana Hybrid. The wipers aren't working right and the headlight cleaning system seems kaput. I think it might be an issue with the windshield wiper switch, but I'm no expert. Has anyone else had similar problems? How did you get it fixed? Would love to hear about your experiences and any tips you might have. Thanks!

Hey there! Sounds like you might be having an issue similar to what I had on my 2019 Renault Megane. I'm not exactly a car guru, just have some experience tinking with my ride. I took it to the local workshop when my steering column switch cable connection went kaput. It wrecked my wiper and headlight functions too. Paid a little over 150 euro to fix it. Hope that helps you some. Mind giving a few more details about your Arkana? Maybe then I could provide more relevant advice. Cheers!

Heya! Thanks for your reply. Based on what you've said, I'm thinking this might be a similar problem. Maybe it's in the Renault genes, right? Ha! So my Arkana's mileage is sitting around 104457 km. It last had a full service at the 100000 km mark – around 4 months back. Specifically, it's the intermittent wiper function that's causing the most annoyance. The headlight washers, they don't activate at all. It's kinda tricky, given the winter season and all. I guess I'm gonna follow in your footsteps and take it to my local Renault guy. It'll probably hurt the wallet but seems like the right call. Thanks again for your advice! Cheers!

Hey again! Sounds like our Renaults have their quirks in common, don't they? Yep, I reckon your guess is about as good as mine. Honestly, given the mileage and recent service, along with the specific problems you've mentioned, it could indeed be a similar issue to mine. The steering column switch cable can interfere with both your wipers and the headlight washers. Tricky timing with the winter and all, too! As you said, your best bet is to take it in to a workshop - especially if you're dealing with the seasonal road conditions. I know it’s a pain to shell out the cash, but it's worth not having to deal with malfunctioning wipers and headlights. Just a pro tip - don't put off dealing with it, given that it could be a safety hazard in the snow and sleet. Anyway, fingers crossed it's a simple and quick fix for ya! Keep us updated, yeah? Safe drivin'! Cheers!

Hey, thanks for confirming my suspicions! Apparently, our Renaults do share some tantrums! I agree with you, it could be due to the steering column switch cable, considering the recent service and mileage of the car and the nature of the issues. It's definitely tricky with this season, but I guess safety comes first, right? Taking it to the workshop does seem like the best available option right now. You bet it'll be a bit of a pain to spend the cash but ignoring it doesn't seem wise, especially considering the weather. Thanks for pushing me in the right direction and the helpful tips! I'll take it straight to the Renault guy soon and hopefully, it'll turn out to be a quick fix. I'd certainly keep you all updated. Thanks again, and safe drivin' to you too! Cheers!
