Hey there! Nice to hear from a fellow Renault owner. Sounds like you nailed it with your Clio. So it's mainly the cracked intake hose, eh? Well, that's a relief, thought it would be a complicated affair. It's very cool you got your car back the same day. By the way, I'm curious, do you remember approximately how much that set you back? And has anything related popped up since then? Appreciate your help!
Hey again! Glad to hear my story brought some relief. Regarding the cost, the intake hose fix was pretty affordable. I ended up shelling out around 100€ for it. Not too steep, right? And as for your second question, since the mechanic fixed the leaking issue, it's been smooth sailing for me. The little problem hasn't popped back up, and my Clio's been running as smooth as ever since. Hope this helps!
Awesome! A hundred Euro is not bad at all. Glad to know it worked out perfectly for your Clio, and it's been doing well since the fix. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and take my Arkana to the mechanic soon, as things seem manageable now. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience and advice! It really puts my mind at ease. Now, off to the garage.
Hey! Got a 2018 Renault Clio myself, had similar symptoms about 6 months back. Check engine light, less power, the lot. Thought it was the intake hose leaking as well. Took it into the garage round the corner from my house. My friend over there popped the bonnet, fiddled around a bit, and sure enough, intake hose had a crack in it. Apparently, it's a rather common problem, gets a lot of wear and tear which can cause it to crack. It messes with the air-fuel mixture, hence issues like power reduction, shaky idles etc. Yeah, serious issue can't be overlooked as further delaying could have led to engine damage. They had to replace the hose, do a bit of tuning here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary, really. The blokes at the garage had it done in a few hours. Got my Clio back same day, no more stuttering or power loss since. So yeah, take it to a good garage, might just be the intake hose like you're guessing. Cheers!
