Hey! Thanks for the heads up! Now you've got me preparing for a defroster grid system change out. By chance, do you recall how much you had to shell out for the repair? Another thing, has anything else popped up since getting it fixed? Just want to prepare myself for any other potential surprises. Thanks!
Hey there! So let's get down to the numbers, I had to cough up a solid 585€ for the entire job of fixing the windscreen heater. Ya know, initially I was taken aback by the price, but when you think about it, the repair involves the whole windshield heating element, which is some pretty intricate stuff! Now to your other question, since then? Not a peep! After the mechanic worked his magic, things have been just peachy. My windscreen is heating up as it should, no more of that darn 'functional limitation' nonsense. So all in all, despite the cost, I'd say it was money well spent! Hope your 'heated' issue gets sorted out soon too! Cheers!
Cheers for the breakdown! You wouldn't believe the sigh of relief I just let out knowing there's a good chance everything should be running smoothly once this fix is in place. That 'functional limitation' message has been the bane of my existence this past week! The cost's definitely a kick, but if it gets the job done without any further issues, it's worth it. Time to brace myself for a chat with the mechanic then. Thanks a heap! You've been a lifesaver!
Hey there! Had quite a similar issue with my 2018 RX Hybrid Lexus, about 55K KMs on it. The heated front window just threw up a similar fault one fine morning, with no hint of any troubles before. After some poking around and googling, ended up taking it to the garage. Turns out it was the defroster grid system hitting a snag. They had to replace the whole thing, as a part of the elements were beyond repair. It wasn't a minor issue to be honest, considering the components involved. It took them a good few hours to fix, but at the end of the day, my windshield was back to pumping out toasty vibes again. So yeah, I'd say brace yourself for a similar repair. A heads-up though, check whether this would be covered under the warranty, mine wasn't. Hope this helps you out a bit!
