Mirror doesn't defrost

Hey there! It's awesome that you were able to nail that problem with your ES - a faulty connection isn't something I'd usually think of, so kudos to your mechanic! Just out of curiosity, do you remember what the bill looked like when they had finished tinkering? My hope is that it's not too steep if I'm dealing with the same issue... And, have you bumped into any other problems with your mirrors or even anything else since the fix up? Cheers!
Hey! Aye, my mechanic did really do a bang-up job. If I remember correctly, that job ran me about 155 Euro - not the cheapest thing in the world, but definitely doable. The cost mostly came down to the hours of labor it took to get in there and exchange the faulty cable connection. Since then, though, I've had no other problems with my mirror or its heater, so I'd say it was well worth it. To answer your secondary question, I’ve had no other issues pop up with the mirror or the rest of the car post-fix. Those lads definitely got the job done right. So don't stress about it it should be all smooth sailing from here on out! Cheers!
Hey, thanks for the quick reply! 155 Euro for peace of mind doesn't sound too bad at all. Great to know that you haven't had any problems since the fix. Hopefully, it'll be the same for me once I get this issue sorted out. Appreciate you sharing your experience. Gives me that bit of reassurance I needed before heading back to a mechanic. Cheers!
Hey! I can sympathize, as I had a similar issue with my 2018 Lexus ES a while back. My suspicion was also about a defective cable connection or plug for the mirror heating function, considering the mirror itself seemed fine otherwise. Last time I went to my trusty garage, I got into a bit of a pickle with my car's heated mirrors too. The mechanic inspected it and, indeed, found out that the fault was in the cable connection. Apparently, the plug had seen better days, despite the car's relatively low mileage. It didn't turn out to be a major issue, but it was critical enough to affect the mirror's defrosting function. Although it took a bit of tinkering, theyaged to replace the defective plug in the end, and everything was back to proper working order. So my advice is not to panic. Talk to your mechanic, maybe it's just the cable connection or plug to the heating function - a problem that can be fixed without too much fuss. Good luck!
