Hey! Thanks for the reassurance. Sounds like my hunch wasn't that far off then. Your Tipo story gives me hope, significant enough. Now, if you don't mind me asking, do you remember how much it cost you to chase down and fix that pesky wire? Also, did you hit any other problems on the way or was that the end of it? Appreciate your advice.
Hey, glad I could help! So, about the costs. To trace and fix the troublesome wire in the harness, I paid around 95 Euro. In my opinion, it was a decent amount given the headache it was causing me, and the fact that such issues can escalate if left unchecked. Contrary to my earlier unpleasant experiences, the mechanic did a great job this time. The thing is, after the repair, the intake manifold pressure sensor worked like a charm, not a hitch since then. So, fortunately, that repair was indeed the end of it, and I haven't had any other nasty surprises. Fingers crossed, touch wood! Just make sure you get your Argo checked by an able hand as soon as possible. Don't further delay it. Best of luck with the repair!
Wow, lucky you! You know, 95 Euro, sounds like a small price to pay for peace of mind and smooth sailing. Okay then, fingers crossed and hoping for the best. I've found another mechanic that seems pretty trustworthy, going to book an appointment for tomorrow. All thanks to your shared experience. And if all goes well, hopefully, I'll be back tearing up the roads, my Argo in prime shape, just like your Tipo! Thanks a ton for your help! Cheers!

The engine fault lamp lights up yellow and says have the engine checked. At the same time, the engine goes into the emergency program.
The fault occurs at full load.
It sounds like your vehicle is going into "limp mode" due to a detected issue. This could be caused by a variety of problems such as a faulty sensor, a problem with the fuel system, or an issue with the transmission. The first step would be to get the error codes read. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Once you have the codes, you can better understand what the issue might be. Please update us with the error codes so we can help you further. Also, remember that driving with your car in limp mode can potentially cause further damage, so it's best to have it checked out by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.
Hey there, I feel your pain. I had a similar problem with my 2018 Fiat Tipo, Diesel engine, about a year ago. The symptoms were almost a mirror image - pesky check engine light, dodgy-feeling engine, you get the picture. Turns out, it was indeed the Intake Manifold Pressure sensor. The problem was actually in the wiring harness which was open/shorted. It wasn't exactly a walk in the park, but it wasn't the end of the world either. Just made sure to find a more reliable mechanic this time around. The work required involved detecting the exact location of the short/open wire in the harness. Then they had to fix the fault by either repairing the specific wire or on the adverse end, replacing the whole harness. All in all, not too serious if you catch it early and get it sorted properly, I suppose. This is one of those issues that can cause some real trouble if it's ignored or not fixed properly. So, I would suggest you to get your Argo checked pronto. Hope this helps and good luck!
