Hey, happy to help! Fixing those busted hoses set me back around 175€. Not exactly cheap for some rubber tubes, but it was definitely worth the peace of mind, you know what I mean? And since I got that sorted, I haven't noticed anything else going haywire -- touch wood! And oh, about that tank ventilation issue you mentioned, turns out you were spot on. My mechanic found a fault there too, and it got taken care of during the same repair job. So, my advice would be to check both, the hoses and your tank ventilation system. You never know, right? Anyway, hope this helps, and best of luck with the repairs! Drive safe, eh!
Hey, you're an absolute lifesaver! The details of your experience sure put my mind at ease somewhat. A €175.00 repair job is definitely better than the nightmare scenarios I was dreaming up. I’ll take your advice and make sure both the hoses and the tank ventilation system are checked out. I am heading down to see my mechanic first thing tomorrow. Thanks heaps for the advice and for sharing your experience! Safe driving to you as well!
Hey there, your symptoms sound familiar. I got a 2017 Seat Leon, and some time ago, I had similar indicators: decreased power, shaky idle and all that jazz. Took it to my local garage. Long story short, turned out, I had some worn-out hoses. Specifically, the issues were related to the PCV system. Apparently the hoses were cracked, causing a vacuum leak. This was causing the engine to run inefficiently, hence power drop and instability. It wasn't a doomsday situation, but it definitely required immediate attention as if left unattended it could have led to more disastrous engine damage. The mechanic had to replace those bad boys because they were beyond repair. It took around a day in the shop to get everything back to normal. So, it might not be your tank ventilation system; it could be the hoses. Regardless, I'd suggest going to your local mechanic asap to confirm. Wishing you all the best!
