Thanks a bunch for the insightful response! So here's a bit more on my situation. Recently, at around the 77000 km mark, I began to notice that the defrost would take unusually longer than before. Then one morning, the front and rear windows just wouldn't defrost at all despite the heated windows feature being activated. Flipping the switch did nothing, and the malfunction indicator lit up. I serviced my car just before the issue arose at 77427 km. So based on your response, should I consider having the windscreen heating element looked at? Would be great to get more of your thoughts. Thanks again.
Hey, no worries, happy to help! Now, given your additional info, yeah, it does seem to suggest windscreen heating element issues. I had a similar issue with my Kadjar around 80000 km mark. Just like your Arkana, it gave no response to the heating command and the fault signal popped right up. From my experience, I'd say, get your Arkana to a trusted workshop. It sounds like the windscreen heating element might need a replacement. In my case, a simple replacement got things rolling back to normal. Just a heads up, it set me back about 600 euro, but well, it was worth it for those frosty mornings! I'd also suggest getting your heating switch and the malfunction indicator checked while you're at it. Sometimes, these things can malfunction and give you a false alarm. Of course, it's a shot in the dark but worth looking into. Good luck with your Arkana!
Cheers for the detailed advice. I appreciate it. I'll definitely follow your tips - visit a workshop, get the windscreen heating element evaluated and also, check the heating switch and malfunction indicator. Fingers crossed it's not a major issue. Gotta keep the beauty in shape for those frosty rides, ya know! Thanks again for your help and I'll keep you updated once the problem's sorted.
Hey, quite the pickle you're in. So, I faced something similar with my 2018 Renault Kadjar, not exactly the same model but pretty close. As someone with a bit of car knowledge under my belt, here's my two cents. The issue for me was indeed the windshield heating element being defective. Found a solid workshop in the city and they sorted it out for around 585 euro, all in. That said, if you could share more about your car's symptoms, it might help me give you a more specific advice. Once the heating element was replaced in my car, it was back to normal. Fixes like these can often be quite straightforward with the right set of hands on them.
