2020 Nissan Cima Connectivity Issues: Seeking Solutions and Experiences

No GPS connection

|

Smartphone can not be connected

Hey all, I'm having some trouble with my 2020 Nissan Cima with a gas engine (she's seen about 96,032 KMs). She's been acting up lately – the smartphone won't sync and the GPS has checked out. Could this be a functional limitations issue with connectivity? Bad luck with mechanics recently, so want to get your collective wisdom. Anybody dealt with something like this? How was your experience with your mechanic around this issue? Thanks a bunch.

Hello there, I completely get your concern. I experienced something similar with my 2017 Nissan Maxima not too long ago. The phone connectivity was on the fritz and the navigation system was pretty much non-existent, so I figured it was probably a similar issue as yours. I took my Maxima into the garage and after the mechanics checked, they told me it was an issue with the pairing mechanism between my smartphone and my car. Apparently, constant updates on our smartphones can interfere with the compatibility with the car's software, which can be a bit of a nuisance, I tell ya. The good news, though, is that it wasn't a major issue. Just required a system update to match the software version of my phone. Took little time to correct and she's been running smooth ever since. So, might be worth getting your software checked out and possibly updated. Good luck!

Hey there, I've got a '19 Cima that gave me a similar headache with the whole smartphone syncing thing. From your description and what said, seems like a software compatibility bug. I had to fork over for a system upgrade as well. Just curious, - can you recall how deep you had to dig into your wallet for that fix? And has any other related problem popped up since then? Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, you got it - it was indeed a software compatibility problem. Had it sorted at my local garage and it cost me around 45 Euro, which wasn't too bad, really. And trust me, it's been a dream since then. No more connectivity problems, not a single problem. Feels like a brand new car, to be honest. The mechanics did a solid job. Cheers!

Hey, thanks for the tips, guys. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one with this kind of trouble. Looks like an upgrade to the software is the common solution. Hopefully, it won't make a massive dent in my pocket., good to hear your ordeal ended well, and the 45 euro charge seems reasonable. I'll definitely have my mechanic look into this upgrade thing. Fingers crossed! Appreciate your help.
