2020 Mazda CX3 Diesel Nav and Audio System Malfunction Possibly Due to Faulty Interior Light: Seeking Advice and Experiences

Audio system is not working

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey! I've run into a weird issue with my 2020 Mazda CX3 Diesel. The Nav and Audio systems are totally kaput and I've got a suspicion it might be due to a faulty interior light. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did your workshop handle the repair and what was your experience like? Any tips or insights would be a real help. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! Had a similar problem with my 2018 Mazda CX5. I'm no car mechanic, but do have some experience tinkering with em'. In my case, the workshop traced the fault to a faulty interior light, just like your suspicion. Cost me 85 Euro for the fix. Not sure if your dashtop components issues flow from the same problem, but totally possible. Could you please share more details about your car? It might help me to dig deeper and give better advice. Cheers!

Hi! Much appreciated for the swift reply. My CX3 has about 34932 KM on it, the latest service was just about a month ago. Everything was working fine until a few days back when the lights started acting up and now, the Nav and Audio systems. I did check online and seeing mixed solutions. Probably, a trip to the mechanic should clear up this confusion, yeah? Oh well, the joys of car ownership. Let’s cross fingers it’s a quick (and not too costly) fix. Cheers!

Hi, again. Yeah, it's a bummer when the unforeseen joys of car ownership show up. As per the symptoms you described, it could actually be a case similar to mine - a faulty interior light messing up the other electrical systems. But, of course, there's no substitute for a proper diagnostic from a licensed mechanic, ideally someone who knows this model well. I’d keep that 85 Euro figure in mind, though not to scare you, prices could vary depending on the complexity of the situation. Just a tip: next time when you notice some strange behavior with the interior lights, do take it seriously as it might lead to other unexpected system malfunctions. Don’t wait too long next time, it's good to keenly observe and solve any minor issues before they spawn into bigger and potentially costlier problems. Hoping for a quick fix on your CX3. Fingers crossed! Cheers!

Thanks a lot! You've been a huge help. I'll keep those words in mind next time I encounter uneven behavior with the lights. Will surely make an appointment with a mechanic who knows this model well. Hoping to get it sorted without burning a hole in my pocket. Ah, indeed, the joys and trials of car ownership! Will update you after the visit. Till then, fingers tightly crossed! Cheers!

Good evening, I am experiencing a similar problem... on a June 2018 Mazda CX3 petrol 2.0 150hp AWD. I recently bought it used from a private individual. The 2 ceiling lights, front seats and rear seats no longer work either manually or when opening the doors...!!! The glove compartment light works. Trunk lighting works. The start and stop battery is new. My usual mechanic who has just changed the oil found nothing (fuse bulbs) and referred me to Mazda... telling me that he doesn't have access to all the electrical diagrams (other fuse isolated elsewhere than in the 2 fuse boxes he checked... potentiometer... door switches...). Not at all a mechanic at heart, I confess I'm a bit lost and anxious to find the source of the problem... I welcome any advice or feedback from similar experiences... Thanks in advance Christophe
