2019 Renault Arkana Experiencing ABS, DSC, and Speedometer Issues: Seeking Advice and Mechanic Recommendations

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS/DSC system is not working

ABS warning light

Fault stored

Hey folks, I'm having some trouble with my 2019 Renault Arkana, gas engine, 125k km on the clock. Lately, the ABS light is on, DSC is going haywire, my speedometer light is acting up, and there's a stored fault. I'm ditching my old mechanic after a bad run-in. Could this all be down to a faulty speed signal? Anybody been through something similar, what were your experiences with the mechanics? Would love to hear your thoughts. Cheers!

Hey there, I can really relate to that. I drive a 2016 Renault Kadjar and I had a similar issue last year. My ABS light would come on randomly and I had the same fault stored. I must tell ya, it was quite a bummer. The issue wasn't with the speed signal, but it was actually the ABS control unit that was defective. My mechanic ran diagnostics that revealed this. It wasn't a super quick fix - they had to replace the unit. But once they did, the ABS light stopped flashing and everything went back to normal. In terms of seriousness, I wouldn't call it a minor issue since the ABS is a pretty crucial part of your car safety system. It's not something you want to ignore, regardless of the car you're driving. But once it's sorted, it's sorted. Sounds like you're dealing with the same thing. Don't worry, you'll get through it. Good luck! Cheers.

Hey there, sorry to hear about the gremlins in your Arkana. I own a '17 model and had a somewhat similar issue, but mine was traced back to the vehicle's speed sensor. Once replaced, all the alert lights went off and everything came back to normal. I'd recommend you to get your car checked at a trustworthy garage that specializes in Renault, as the ABS and DSC systems are indeed critical. You don't want any quick fixes; you want it correctly diagnosed and fixed. By the way, fellow Kadjar owner, do you remember roughly how much you had to pay to get your ABS control unit replaced? And since it was fixed, have you noticed any other issues coming up or was that the end of it? Cheers!

Hey there! Ah, memories of my Kadjar troubles are flooding back now. I remember that replacing the defective ABS control unit did leave my pocket a bit lighter. It set me back by around a cool grand, about 1000€ - not the cheapest fix, I know, but definitely less painful than a faulty ABS system. As for any other issues popping up post-fix, luckily that was the end of my woes. Something that'll make you breathe easier - since the mechanic tackled the ABS control unit issue, the Speed signal fault also seemed to get sorted out. Since then, let's just say my Kadjar's been purring along without a problem. Finally some peace and quiet without all those blinking lights on the dash! Hope that helps. Hang in there, your Arkana will be back in its prime before you know it. Cheers!

Wow, thanks for the quick replies! You've definitely put my mind moderately at ease with your experiences. I reckon it does sound like it could be either the ABS control unit or speed sensor. I'm glad to hear that once the issues were fixed for you both, they didn't spring back up. That 1000€ repair is definitely a punch to the wallet but I suppose the peace of mind and safety of the car are worth it. Alright, guess it's time to find a reputable Renault specialist and have the Arkana looked over properly. I appreciate the advice and experiences shared. I'll be sure to update once I get a diagnosis. Much appreciated, cheers! P.S: That's quite comforting to know that the speed signal fault straightened out after addressing the ABS control unit. Fingers crossed for an easy mend. Cheers again!
