Hey. Appreciate the heads up! I was afraid it might be something serious like this with the brakes. Bummer it turned out to be such a big job on your GS, but glad you got it fixed. If you don't mind me asking, do you happen to recall how much did you end up shelling out for the whole brake overhaul? If anything else seemed off since you got that all sorted, I'd love to know as well. Cheers!
Hey there! No worries, always happy to help a fellow hybrid owner out. Ended up paying around 480€ for the whole brake system - from pads and discs to the labor involved. That sorted out the 'Brake fluid level too low' warning light as well. I was a bit wary about the cost initially but felt better knowing I wasn't risking it with the brakes anymore. After the overhaul, everything's been smooth sailing with my Lexus. No problems or recur of problems since then. Guess it's one of those necessary evils, eh! Anyway, best of luck with your RC, hope it won't bite your wallet too hard. Cheers!
Wow, that cost doesn't sound too terrible considering the importance of a brake overhaul. Your experience definitely puts me at ease, and I agree, it's absolutely a necessary evil we've got to deal with. Safety comes first. I'm just hoping it wouldn't burst my budget completely. But hey, if it gets my reliable Lexy running smoothly again, it'll be worth it. Thanks for sharing your insights, really helped me a lot! Cheers!
Hey! I completely get your concerns, been there myself. I've got a 2016 Lexus GS Hybrid, and saw a similar situation around 88k KM. Turned out my brakes were shot and wearing out faster than usual. During my last garage visit, found the brake pads had gotten way too thin and the discs weren't too far behind - they were grooved and worn. This caused the brake fluid level to drop, which probably triggered the low fluid warning for you too. In my case, mechanic had to replace the entire brake system, pads, discs, the whole nine yards. Definitely a serious issue because you can't muck around with brakes, right? But no need to stress out too much, once the parts were changed, it was all good. Guess it's a good time to get your ride checked, especially if it's been a while. Better safe than sorry, and get ready for an overhaul of your brake system. Cheers!
