Hey there, Thanks for getting back to me. My V40 Volvo has run about 70642km now. It got serviced last about 15000km ago. Been driving pretty much without a hitch until this popped up outta nowhere. I did experience a bit of loss in power, especially when I accelerate. But that was intermittent, didn’t put a lot of thought into it until this warning light incident. My Ad-Blue levels seem to be okay, not topped off, but well within range, I guess. Based on your tip, thinking of getting the DPF flushed. You reckon I should also get the Ad-Blue topped off although its level is fine? Thank you for throwing some light on this. Really appreciate it!

Hey again, Appreciate the extra details. Now if your Ad-Blue level is okay, no need to unnecessarily top it off. That won't make much difference. But based on your mileage and that power loss you're experiencing, it does sound like the DPF could do with a good ol’ flush. Dirt and soot can build up, causing some of those issues you're facing. I reckon get it to a garage and have them take a gander. They can flush the DPF, check the engine light and overall diagnose the exact issue more accurately. Try to tag along with them and ask questions - it helped me understand my V60 better and what to look out for in the future. Also, you didn't mention anything about fuel quality. Higher quality diesel can reduce DPF clogging. So, if you haven't already, maybe start using a better diesel grade too. Let me know how you get on with it. Would be curious to see if your issue matches what I had. Cheers!

Hey, That's some sound advice there – totally appreciate it. I've been using regular diesel till now. Upgrading to a higher grade of diesel does make sense to cut the DPF clogging, I'll definitely give that a shot. For now, thinking of getting down to a local garage this weekend. It’s high time I got the DPF flushed and checked the warning light in one go. I’ll make sure to ask them everything that bugs me so I’ll understand my V40 better, just as you suggested. Once I'm done, I'll let you know about where exactly the problem was and how they fixed it. Thanks again for helping me out. Truly means a lot to me! Looking forward to kicking this issue to the curb. Cheers!

Hey, I got a '17 Volvo V60 Diesel, pretty similar situation not too long ago. My Ad-Blue level was too low as well. I ain't no car genius but got some hands-on knowledge you could say. Drove my beauty to a local workshop, the blokes there flushed the DPF and topped up the Ad-Blue for me, cost me about 65 Euro. Sorted out my issues just fine, no more warning lights. Can you check your Ad-Blue tank? It's an easy first step before anything else. Hope that's of some help. What other deets can you share about your car or the symptoms? Maybe I can give more advice based on that. Cheers!
