Hey there, Wow, your issue sounds like a mirror image of mine. Thanks a bunch for the insight. I figured it was something along those lines. I'll definitely take it into the garage ASAP to avoid messing things up any more than they already are. I'm just curious – do you remember how much that repair set you back? Also, did anything else crop up related to this since the fix? I'm trying to prepare myself for any surprises as best as I can. Cheers!
Hey there, Well, strap in – the repair wasn't exactly a joyride for my wallet, I'll tell ya that much. Reckon the DPF being severely overloaded didn't help any. Still, better to get it sorted than to be stranded on a highway somewhere, right? So to set things straight, the Exhaust Back Pressure sensor was indeed faulty but the good news is, it's already been taken care of when I took the car to the mechanic. The damage on it was quite extensive, hence resulted in the DPF not regenerating. They had to perform a drastic forced regeneration and replace the faulty sensor. All this ran my bill up to around €1325. That's not peanuts, right? But hey, gotta keep the wheels turning. As for any extra surprises, nothing out of ordinary! Everything's been smooth sailing since that fix. And let's not kid ourselves, the peace of mind? Priceless. Just goes to show, somethings are just worth the dough and this was definitely one of them. Dicey situation but dig deep and get it sorted! You'll be glad you did. All the best!
Heyya, Oh that price tag is a bit of a kick in the guts, ain't it? Can't say I was expecting that but, like you said, worth it to not be stranded or make things worse. Money's just money, right? I'm relieved to hear there weren't any extra issues that cropped up afterwards. That's some silver lining. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with me. I'm off to the garage this week, fingers crossed everything goes alright. And hey, I'm definitely not leaving it this late next time something feels off. Cheers and take care!
Hey! Your situation smacks familiar to what I dealt with on my 2015 Seat Leon not too long ago. The same monkey business - engine light popping up, diminished power, and my DPF was also acting up like yours. It was in fact my Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor marinating the trouble, and my DPF was severely overloaded because of it. The mechanic at my local garage where I usually get the remedies done, had a thorough look at it. Upon inspection, the diagnosis was indeed an issue with the back pressure sensor, which essentially was failing to regulate the soot accumulation in my DPF, leading to an inability to regenerate. To fix this, they initially did an aggressive forced regeneration, followed by replacing the faulty exhaust back pressure sensor. It was a significant job to be honest but thankfully since the DPF wasn't damaged, it didn't need replacing. Heed my advice and get it checked out as soon as you can. An overloaded DPF can cause big problems if left unchecked. Good luck and hope you get it sorted without much hassle!
