Check engine light on

Hey fellow car enthusiasts, I've got a problem with my 2018 Gasoline Nissan Note which has run around 63532 km. Recently, the check engine light has come on, plus the engine's been acting up - going off on its own and having an uneven rhythm. I've also noticed it's been jerking during acceleration and eating up more gas than usual. I think it might be a Throttle valve issue, but after a lousy experience with my last mechanic, I'm a bit skeptical. Any of you guys faced something similar? What possible solution did your mechanic provide? Would appreciate your insights. Thanks in advance!

Hey, Oh, it reminds me of some similar bummer I dug into with my 2016 Nissan Juke. Acceleration was more like stammering than being smooth. Plus, my old beast was craving for petrol like a guzzler. The moment that dashboard light flared up, I knew it was time to pay a visit to my local garage. Turns out, the naughty culprit was my Accelerator Pedal Module. Same symptoms as yours, so you and I are probably sailing in the same boat here. Basically, it's the thing that tells your engine "you need to go faster" or "slow down!" and mine was going bananas. It's actually a pretty serious deal, as it interferes with your vehicle's throttle operation. It's not the type of thing you'd want to neglect or leave running rogue for too long. In my case, the mechanic ended up replacing the whole module. She's been running smooth as silk ever since. Hope this helps you out a bit, you're not alone in this. Best of luck with your Note, keep us posted! Cheers.

Hey there, Wow, your situation does sound eerily similar to mine. I mean, an Accelerator Pedal Module issue makes a lot of sense considering the throttle operation is off track in my Nissan Note. I really do appreciate your insight. From what you're describing, it sounds like something I can't afford to ignore. If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you end up shelling out for replacing the module? Also, after the fix, did you encounter any other problems related to this? Curious to know if things can really bounce back to normal or if it's the sort of issue that keeps coming back to haunt you. Thanks again! Cheers!

Hey, happy to lend a hand. After my mechanic gave it a good look, we managed to sort the Throttle valve issue in no time. So, that's a good news for you. Now onto the financial bit. The replacement of the Accelerator Pedal Module hit my wallet with a hefty 205 Euro. Ouch, right? But considering the relief it brought me, it was well worth it. I mean, who doesn't want a smooth drive without constant jerking and engine problems, plus the mileage's improved quite a bit rather than guzzling up fuel. Since the fix, it’s been a smooth sail with no further problems popping up related to this issue, knock on wood. As long as you get it fixed by a trusted mechanic, your ride should be back to its normal rhythm. So don't worry too much about it coming back to haunt you again. Keep the rubber side down! Cheers!

Hey, Thanks for sharing the financial bit. I've got a bit of a sticker shock hearing that it cost 205 Euro, but it does sound like it's a worthwhile investment. After all, having my Note back to normal and no longer worrying about it stalling in the middle of the road is a huge relief. I think I'm ready to bite the bullet and get the Accelerator Pedal Module replaced. Really hope that, like in your case, it will solve the problem and won't come back to haunt me. Fingers crossed and I'm going to keep you guys updated on this! I appreciate your help and advice. Till then, stay safe, and keep enjoying the ride! Cheers!
