Hey, thanks for sharing, really appreciate the insight. Sounds pretty similar to what I'm dealing with here. Looks like I'll have to take a trip to the mechanic pronto. Far from ideal, but better safe than sorry, eh? If you don't mind me asking, do you remember how much all of that set you back? And have you had any other related issues come up since the fix? Just trying to prepare myself for what might be around the corner. Cheers again!
Hey there, no problem at all, happy to help where I can! So, to get my Lexus LC back up and running, clearing the combustion chamber of those pesky carbon deposits cost me a pretty penny - about 425€ to be exact. Not exactly chump change, I know. But honestly it's been smooth sailing since. No knocking combustion issues in any of the cylinders anymore, which I am mighty relieved about. Once my trusted mechanic had sorted it, my ride has been as good as new, no more jerky accelerating or strange noises. So, I'd say it was a pretty worthwhile investment in the end! Good luck with your car troubles, hope it's nothing too serious. Peace out!
Hey! I genuinely appreciate the detailed response! Even if it is a bit of a dent in the wallet, the peace of mind will be worth it. Better to nip it in the than let it simmer any longer, right? I'm going to get my Lexus over to my mechanic stat, and hopefully, it's just a case of sorting out the same sort of thing. Thanks again for your insights! It's been a tremendous help. I'll be sure to keep you updated on how it all goes. Wish me luck! Cheers and take care.
Hey! I reckon you may be onto something. My '15 Lexus LC had something similar going on a while back. I was getting irregular acceleration, similar to you, and a weird engine noise. Took it to my trusted garage and they found deposits in the combustion chamber - carbon deposits to be exact. Turns out, it was affecting my fuel efficiency and engine performance just like yours. The mechanic ran a full engine diagnostic and discovered the mixture was not burning completely due to these deposits. This led to affecting the spark plugs, causing that jerky acceleration and noise from the engine. They had to clean it up, replace the spark plugs, and fix the fuel mixture issue. I gotta say, this wasn't a minor issue at all. The carbon buildup can cause serious long-term damage to the engine because of improper combustion. The mechanic did mention that frequent short trips, poor fuel, and not servicing the car on time can cause this. Anyways, I'd suggest having yours checked out quicksmart. It may just be the same issue. Let me know how you get on. All the best!
