2018 Kia Quoris Battery Issues and Warning Light on the Speedometer - Seeking Advice and Solutions

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Car won't start

Weak battery when starting the engine

Dim or flickering lights

Hey! I'm having a bit of an issue with my 2018 Kia Quoris running on gasoline. Lately, it won't start without a fight, the battery seems weak, and the lights are blinking or just dim. Noticed a warning light popping up on the speedometer too. I'm suspecting something to do with a message error but not entirely sure. Any advice on what could be causing this? Has anyone dealt with a similar problem and how did the workshop resolve it? Looking for real-life experiences and advice. Cheers.

Hey there, I've had a similar issue with my 2016 Kia Optima. I'm by no means an automobile guru, but I've dealt with a few car issues before. Turns out, the issue was with the cable connection of the control unit being defective, attached to the BUS system. I took it to my local mechanic, and after running some diagnostics, they had the issue pinpointed and fixed for around 260 Euro. As for your case, it could be something similar, but more details like mileage, any recent repairs or modifications etc. would help to narrow it down. Hopefully this helps. Best of luck!

Hey! I appreciate the advice! My Quoris has 68066km on the clock, and the latest service was just a regular maintenance check about a couple of weeks back. Haven't done any major repairs or mods recently. I reckon I should take it to my local workshop and let them run a diagnostic. Hoped it's something common and won't break the bank. Thanks again!

Hey again! Just based on my own experience and your info, it could very well be a similar issue that I had. These symptoms can be a bit tricky as they could indicate a variety of potential problems, but a common one indeed is faulty wiring or connections in the electrical system. Your mileage is not extraordinarily high, so I doubt it's due to serious engine wear. Taking it to a mechanic for diagnostics is a good start, as they can use specialized equipment to determine if there's a specific error code. If it's the same as my issue with the control unit cable connection, it might be a tad bit pricey but also might prevent more significant damage and costlier repairs down the line. Remember though, I'm just sharing my experience, it's always best to seek professional advice in these cases. And hey, here's hoping it won't put too much of a dent in your pocket! Best of luck!

Top stuff! Been very helpful, indeed. I'm quite a novice when it comes to car issues. It's a relief to know it doesn't sound like a serious engine problem. I'll get it checked out by a professional soon and brace myself for a potentially pricey fix. Fingers crossed it won't run my pockets dry. Thanks again for your guidance and for sharing your experience. Cheers!
