Hey, thanks for sharing your experience with the Fiat 500 sounds like a similar problem I'm dealing with. I figured the communication between control devices might be off but didn't exactly know how to put it into words, so it's reassuring to know I'm on the right track. I'm just a bit bugged about the dashboard dismantling part and potential costs that might come with it. If it's not a bother, do you remember how much you shelled out for the repair? Thought I'd have a rough idea at least before heading to a mechanic. Also, have there been any more issues related to this since? Thanks heaps!

Hey! You're welcome, always happy to share some knowledge about our favorite automobiles. So, about your question on the repair cost - it set me back about 155 Euro. That included all the work for sorting out the defective cable connection of the control unit to the BUS system. Stingy on the wallet, I know, but since they fixed it, the communication between the control devices has been smooth as butter. So in my humble opinion, it's worth every penny to not have warning lights and navigation issues popping up regularly and interrupting your peace of mind. And to answer your other query, no, I haven't had any other issues related to this since the mechanics sorted it out. Hope this helps you out. Just remember - don't panic and find yourself a good mechanic, and your Fiat 500 should be back to its old self in no time. Cheers and good luck!

Wow, a solid 155 Euro, huh? That's a hit, but a functioning navigation and no warning lights sound like a sweet deal in return. Thanks for sharing the info and reassuring me that this isn't the end of the road for my faithful Fiat 500. And of course, the reminder to keep calm - quite essential in such dilemmas! Here's hoping my experience resolves as cleanly as yours did. Thanks again for your inputs and well-wishes. Let's hope my next visit to the mechanic bears some good news. Take care and safe driving! Cheers!

Hey there, I can totally relate to your problem, I had a similar issue with my 2018 Fiat 500 a while back. Just when I was about to panic, turns out it was the cable connection of the control unit causing the fuss, connection to the BUS system was faulty. The control unit and the vehicles BUS system need to be in sync for all the electrical components to work properly, that includes the navigation system, lights, everything. If they're not communicating well, all kind of weird things can start happening, just like you described. The mechanics had to take apart the dashboard to reach it, did some repairs, refitted everything back together, and that pretty much solved the issue. It's not just a quick fix, so yes, it was a tad serious but wasn't a mandate for a new car or anything major like that. It's just one of those things that needs professional attention and once sorted, you're good to go. But remember, every car's different, just because we drive the same brand doesn't mean the problem will be exactly the same. Just get it checked out by a decent mechanic. Cheers!
