Hey, thanks for getting back to me! Sounds like we've been in the same boat with our Kias. I gotta tell you, I'm feeling a bit more relieved hearing that the issue got sorted out for you with just a battery replacement and it didn't snowball into a bigger electrical system problem. Just wondering, do you remember roughly how much that cost you? And has anything else come up since the fix, or has it been smooth sailing? Cheers for the advice, really appreciate it!
Hey! Good to hear from you. Yep, our Kias seem to have shared the same vibes. Now about your question, I had to cough up around 290.00 € to get the problematic battery fixed. Wasn't the best of surprises, but, hey, seeing that defective additional battery getting sorted out and my ride running smooth afterward made it worth every penny. And you know what - ever since that fix, it's all been pretty cruisy, no surprises. She's been starting up without any fuss, and those dimming and flickering lights? Gone with the wind. Best thing I did was not letting this linger for too long. So yeah based on my experience, it's definitely worth getting your Carens into the garage ASAP. That battery issue could actually turn out to be a little nemesis if left unchecked. All the best, and here's to smooth rides ahead!
Brilliant. I'm most heartened to hear that everything's been running well with your Sorrento ever since. Thanks a ton for sharing the cost info, gives me a ballpark idea to be prepared for. You're totally right, I shouldn't procrastinate and let this problem linger. I'll be looking to get my Carens checked out as soon as I can. After all, a smooth journey is what we all strive for. Thanks again for sharing your wisdom and experience! All the best to you and your cruises. Here's to no more troublesome car issues ahead. Cheers!
Hey there, just stumbled on your post. This story sounds almost identical to the troubles I had with my 2014 Kia Sorrento a while ago. The signs were the same - difficulty starting up, interior and exterior light dimmed, even the flickering. Turned out, the battery was indeed defective, pretty serious stuff by the way. They found out it was not holding up the charge and feeding the electrical system as it should. I was explained by the mechanic that my car's electrical system could be damaged if the battery gets too weak and inconsistent which apparently could lead on pretty significant repairs. They did a battery replacement job, alongside with a complete electrical system inspection - just to make sure nothing was harmed due to the defective battery. Thank God, everything else was fine only the battery needed to be changed. Although it was a hassle to deal with, just bit the bullet and got it sorted. Car's been running like a dream ever since. So, my advice? Don't hesistate. I'd say get it checked out ASAP. It's a pain, but remedies are not that hard like some other engine related problems. Best of luck!
