Hey there, That's a lot like the trouble I had with my own 2017 Kia Bongo a while back. As said, it might be the battery acting up. The easiest way to confirm that would be to get it checked. Silly question though, but do you remember how much you had to shell out for replacing the battery? Also, did that solve the problem completely, or did some other gremlins pop up afterward? Just trying to frame an idea of what I should expect. Appreciate your help. Good vibes your way!
Hey bud, I remember dealing with the same issue you're facing with your Kia Bongo. I took it in to the mechanic because of the overvoltage issue you referenced. Good news though, once my mechanic fixed it, the problem was completely sorted. Bingo Bongo, no more issues for my Bongo! As for the battery, it turned out to be defective and was causing all the dimming lights and weak starts. After swapping it out, everything's been running smoothly. Now, it did run me a cool 290€, which probably seems kinda steep, but trust me, it's way cheaper than having to replace other parts of your engine. And way less hassle in the long run! I hope this provides some peace of mind. Good luck with your Kia Bongo. Cheers!
Hey, you two, Really appreciated the insights! I was starting to think I had a real ghost in the machine on my hands. So, it's quite the relief to hear that it might be a similar battery-related issue instead of something significantly scarier! I'll book in with the mechanic for a thorough check-up, especially focusing on the battery's condition, thanks for the heads-up about the cost. My wallet might scream a bit, but if it fixes the problem, I can live with the wails. By the way, I'll let you know about the expenses once resolved and if any other spectres make an appearance. Thanks a lot — you guys have been a real help! Cheers - wish me luck with my little adventure.
Hey! I had a vaguely similar issue with my 2014 Kia Soul a while back. Same symptoms: dimming lights, sputtering starts, it was a proper mess. At first, I thought it was just the alternator or maybe the starter motor. I ended up hauling it down to my local garage though, and turns out it was the battery that bit the dust, not the alternator. Honestly, it was more of an annoyance than anything serious. It didn't damage any other components, but it certainly isn't something you'd want to mess about with for too long. The last thing you want is to be stuck on the roadside with a dead battery. So, if your Bongo is showing signs akin to what I faced, I'd suggest getting your battery checked and swapped, ASAP. It might not be the same issue, but it's definitely worth ruling that out. Would save you from some unnecessary stress. Good luck.
