Hey! Thanks for your swift input! Seems like we're sharing common ground here, huh. That's definitely not the situation I want to be in, stalling on the highway, yikes! So glad to hear your Elantra is healthy and hearty again. Just a quick one, do you recall roughly how much green you had to shell out for the new injector and the fix? And since then, any similar problems, or has it been smooth sailing? Cheers!
Hey back at ya, You nailed it! We're definitely riding in the same boat. As for the cost, I had to part with 515.00 € to fix the naughty injector and since then, no similar sputtering, no black smoke, and no unexpected engine stalling. In fact, it's been plain sailing and the beast has been purring like a kitten since the visit to the doc – err, I mean, the mechanic! And to stress it, that dreaded check engine light hasn't flashed since either – what a relief, right?! So, there you go. That was the cost for getting things sorted. And given the peace of mind after, I'd say it was worth every penny. Hope your ride sorts out soon, cheers!
Hey again, Ah, the relief to know it's been smooth sailing for you post-repair, puts me at ease. A bit heavy on the pocket, but what you said makes sense, it's all about the peace of mind and safety after all. So, I'm gonna get my Ioniq checked and fixed real soon. Fingers crossed the check engine light turns off and the smoke puffing and jerks cease post the repair, just like your Elantra! Appreciate the info and kind words. Here's hoping for a smooth ride on the other side! Take care and stay safe. Cheers!
Hey there, Sounds like you're spot on with your suspicion - pretty sure it's your injector. I own a 2014 Hyundai Elantra and had a similar issue. Black smoke, check engine warning, and engine sputtering - all classic symptoms of a faulty fuel injector. The injector was not providing the right amount of fuel to my engine which caused these erratic performance issues. It wasn't exactly life-threatening but it sure wasn't something to ignore. The engine misfires and stalls were particularly concerning - you don't want to be stuck in the middle of a highway with a dead engine, right? Long story short, I took it to my mechanic where they ran a diagnostic and confirmed it. The defective injector was replaced and my car has been running like a champ ever since. So I reckon you should get your car checked ASAP. Good luck with that!
