2017 Dacia Duster Issues: Warning Light in Speedometer and Stuck Convertible Top

Hey! I've been having a heck of a time with my 2017 Dacia Duster. Ran about 19198 KM so far on her gasoline engine. Anyway, she's been throwing up a warning light in the speedometer and the convertible top won't budge. My guess is maybe something's off with the sunroof training or something? Last mechanic visit was a nightmare so looking to avoid that again if possible. Anyone ever faced similar problems or has any insight or suggestions? All replies are appreciated, thanks!

Hey there! I feel you! I've got a 2014 Dacia Sandero and had the same issue a while back. My mechanic said it was related to the Coding carried out on my car. In simple terms, your car ECU (Engine Control Unit) might need some tinkering or recalibration. He did not suggest it as a common or serious problem, yet it needed professional attention. For my Sandero, they had to do a complete check on the electronics and rectify the coding of the convertible top which apparently got messed up. A piece of advice - don't try fixing it yourself, take it to a professional. Good luck!

Hey, cheers for the info! That sounds pretty similar to what I've been dealing with on my Duster. If you recall, can you ballpark how much that set you back? Also, any other issues crop up related to this since? I'm just trying to gauge what I'm getting into here. Thanks again!

Hey! Sure thing, the whole fixing thing cost me around 75€, actually. What they did was they tuned up the coding on my vehicle and made sure it was running smoothly again. Thankfully since, the sunroof symbol of liberty and breeze has been behaving itself, no problems at all. To sum it up, I'd say, although it's a hassle, getting it fixed professionally was totally worth the price. Hope that helps out your Duster!

Really appreciate the insight and the advice, sounds like I'll need to bite the bullet and take it into the shop then, eh? The pricing doesn't sound too steep, thankfully. It's a relief to hear that you haven't had any other related issue since. Well, I'll get on top of this and hope my Dacia behaves as well as your Sandero post-fixing. Thanks again!
