Hey there, thanks heaps for the advice! Your situation sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. I'll take my Navara in for a good look under the hood based on your experience. By the way, do you remember how hard it hit your pocket to get this DPF cleanout job done? Would love to know if any other problems popped up after. Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, no worries, glad to help. So for the DPF issue, there was a heavy load on the diesel particulate filter when I took it to the mechanic, pretty much the same as what you're having now. They dealt with it and everything's been smooth ever since. The cost? Whew, let me tell you, it wasn't a light hit — shelled out about 1550€ to get the DPF internally fixed. It was a tough pill to swallow, but totally worth it in the end; no more black smoke or stinky exhaust and the engine's been running like a dream. Just remember, the sooner you catch this, the better — you really don't want to let DPF problems slide. Cheers! Hope it all turns out good for you.

That's quite a hit! But I reckon it’s better than letting things go downhill and ending up with a bigger bill. Thanks for sharing your experience, it’s been really helpful! So, I'm off to the mechanic to get this DPF mess sorted out. Fingers crossed it's just a clean-up and not a complete replacement. Will let you lot know how it goes. Thanks again! Cheers!

Hey there! I feel your pain as I had a pretty similar issue with my 2013 Nissan Altima Diesel not too long ago. It had just clocked about the same number of kms as yours when I began to notice lack-lustre acceleration, some really stinky exhaust, and yeah, that awful black smoke. And guess what? It was the DPF indeed! The mechanic found it was internally defective - something about the regeneration process not working properly, much like in your case. Turns out, it was a serious issue - the DPF is essentially the lung of your car, cleaning out all that exhaust soot, and when it gets clogged or goes kaput, well, you've seen the results. Getting it fixed took a couple of days at the garage – they had to remove it, check for internal damage, and then clean it out completely. Worst case, it might even need replacing. But since you've just clocked 30814 km, it's more likely to be a cleanout job. And the sweet relief once it was sorted! No more stink, no more black smoke, and the acceleration came back to normal. So, I'd say it's worth taking her in for a good look. Don't risk leaving it unattended for too long as a damaged DPF can lead to more significant issues down the line. Good luck! I hope it's just a cleaning job for you. Cheers!
