2014 Lexus LS Showing Warning Light and Fault Notifications - Could it be the Transport Mode?

Some functions in the vehicle are not available

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Fault stored

Hey, got a bit of a problem with my 2014 Lexus LS - it's run a decent 171,484 km so far. Some functions ain't working, I've got fault notifications stored, and the dreaded warning light is haunting my speedometer. I reckon it could be the transport mode acting up? Last time I took it to the garage, it wasn't pretty, so I'm hesitant to just rush there again. Any of you had a similar issue with your rig? What kind of experience did you have getting it sorted out by your mechanic? Would appreciate your insights. Cheers!

Hey there. Spot on your issue does sound familiar indeed. I happen to drive a 2011 Lexus ES myself and faced a similar issue just last service. Kudos to you for mentioning the transport mode - you're definitely on the right track. When I had this issue, a couple of things needed attention. First off, the ECU had to be given a proper reset, 'cause it was misreading the car's state believing it's still in transport mode and causing those fault notifications. Second, they had to deal with replacing my car's battery (the beast just decided to give up the ghost that day), hence those jump starts I was dealing with, similar to what you mentioned. Trust me you don't want to ignore this. Serious issue? In a way, yes, as it's about the vehicle's computer system. But once it's sorted, your ride will be back to normal. Hope this helps you out a bit. Cheers!

Hey, really appreciate the feedback. Seems like our Lexas' have something in common, huh? Funny enough, in a weird sort of way. Your description sounds spot on with what I am going through. You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Mind if I ask, what was the damage to your pocket? I'm trying to prepare for the worst. And since getting things back on track, any other surprises or things have been smooth sailing? Thanks again. You're helping me see a light at the end of the tunnel. Cheers!

Hey there again! Glad my previous message was helpful. Your situation is indeed remarkably similar to the one I had not too long ago – Lexus bros to the end, eh? As for the damage to the wallet, well, let's just say that it wasn't as bad as initially feared. It cost me around 45€ all in. That included resetting the ECU and getting the jump start done, so in the grand scheme of car problems, it wasn't too harsh on the finances. Ever since my mechanic handled all that - things with my Lexus have been pretty smooth. Especially the transport mode horror, that got completely fixed, hasn't creeped up again. So fingers crossed your situation plays out in the same way. Just remember - it's all a part of owning and loving these machines. Just hold on, you'll get through this tunnel soon enough! Best of luck, cheers!

Hi there. You've no idea how relieved I am to hear that! 45€ ain't so bad, I was imagining the worst. This definitely helps me breathe a bit easier knowing it's not a catastrophic blow to my wallet. I honestly thought it would be way worse! It's reassuring to know your own Lexus is running smooth post-repairs. Gives me hope that once this is handled, my beast will be back on the roads without any problems. Sure appreciate your advice and for sharing your experience. Means a lot. It's just as you said - "part of owning and loving these machines". Can't wait to get this sorted and hit the road again! Thanks again. Till the next issue pops up, eh? Take care and safe driving! Cheers!
