Hey! I'm having a weird issue with my 2014 Kia Mohave with a gas engine. It's been running hot lately and on top of that, the A/C system doesn't kick in anymore. I'm suspecting that the motor fan speed sensor might be on the blink. Have any of you run into this issue before, and if so, how did your workshop fix it? Interested in hearing about your experiences and any troubleshooting tips you might have. Cheers!

Hey! I ran into a similar sort of problem with my 2012 Kia Sorento. Now, not being a car expert but having tinkered with a few engines in my time, I took it upon myself to have a look. It turned out it was a Speed Sensor issue! I took it to my regular workshop and they sorted it out in a jiffy. Took about €250 out of my wallet, but everything's been smooth sailing since then. Just a thought - you checked the coolant level and the serpentine belt in your Mohave? Also, any error lights on your dash? Might help to narrow down your issue.

Hey, thanks for the pointer! Good to know I'm not the only one who's faced this. Since my Mohave is sitting at 168654 KM, I did check the coolant level and serpentine belt recently during my last service, wasn't nothing out of the ordinary there. But I'll keep an eye for any error lights on the dash, haven't crossed my mind before. Let's see if I can steer this beast into a workshop without breaking the bank haha.

Hey again! Sounds like you're ticking off all the right boxes. These beasts can be tricky sometimes, can't they? I also had another thought. Since your A/C system isn't engaging too, it's worth checking the refrigerant levels and seeing if the compressor's clutch is engaging. When I had A/C problems in the past on my Sorento, that was one of the culprits - low refrigerant and a squeaky old compressor clutch. Also, you've got a newer model, so maybe have a squiz at the radiator cap - if that's loose, it might not hold the right pressure, making your Mohave run hot. An old trick that I do before heading to the repair shop is getting an OBD-II scanner and checking it for any fault codes. Might give you a clearer picture of what's going on. Let's hope it ain't the hefty bill at the end of the day!

Brilliant! Cheers for the lead on the A/C issue and the radiator cap tip, that's definitely worth checking out. Didn't think about the refrigerant levels or the OBD-II scanner either but both sound like great ideas. Appreciate the advice, hopefully, this will get the old girl running smoothly again.
