Hey there! Your story with that cable/plug issue rang a bell! I had a similar run-in with my Hyundai Porter a while back, and your explanation was spot on to what happened. I'll tell you, it's quite the adventure you go through when these little buggers start acting up, ain't it? Just out of curiosity, do you remember ballpark how much you had to drop for the fix? And has anything else quirky popped up with your Elantra since that repair? Always good to be prepared for the next surprise these unpredictable creatures throw at us. Cheers!
Hey there! Ain't it funny how these motors can pull the wool over our eyes? But yeah, to answer your question, getting the Cable/Plug issue fixed set me back by 95.00 €. But since then, me Elantra's behaving herself, purrs like a kitten she does! When your mechanic sorted the job out, he didn't just fix the defective Cable/Plug, but also ensured all connections were clean and no other issues were lingering underneath that bonnet. Good bloke, he really is! Oh, and about that Knock sensor debacle you mentioned, yes, it was an issue before, but no squeak from it since the last visit to the mechanic. So hurtful on the pocket, sure, but, in the end, it feels good to have the car buzzing around without a care in the world. Drive safe and enjoy your Hyundai Porter! It's one heck of a ride. Hope it turns out just to be the cable/plug in your case too. Cheers!
Hey! My goodness you guys, these car stories -- simply astonishing! The sneaky Cable/Plug you both experienced, indeed seems like a possibility – will be sure to have that checked. Thankfully, the spend doesn’t seem to have hit your pocket too harshly, and you both kept your cool. Very interesting how a seemingly minor faulty part could camouflage itself, eh? Also glad to hear all’s well with your Elantras now. Your insight has been so helpful. You've armed me well for my upcoming mechanic visit. I'm crossing fingers and toes it's just the Cable/Plug issue, not the Knock sensor. Thanks a bunch for your generous help, the Hyundai community stands strong indeed! Take care and here’s to trouble-free rides in future. Cheers!
Hey! Your Hyundai Porter's symptoms seem all too familiar to me. A couple of months ago, my 2013 Hyundai Elantra had the exact same issue: Check engine light, reduced engine power, and wonky acceleration. I even had the same suspicions, sire - a Knock sensor on the fritz! You know, at first, I thought it's just a simple problem that could be easily fixed. No biggie right? Wrong! After hauling my Elantra to my trusted local garage, turns out it was the Cable/Plug that was defective! Yeah took me by surprise too. The mechanic in charge, a bloke I've known for years, was thorough enough to substitute the defective part, clean all the connections to ensure there's no friction and corrosion, and then gave the gear a spin to check if things went back to normal or not. Thankfully, that did the trick, and my dear Elantra was back to her best, purring along the highway effortlessly. Phew! So, it may not be exactly a Knock sensor issue, but you might want to check the Cable/Plug too. No harm in ruling it out, right? Yeah, it was a somewhat serious issue but once it was fixed, my Elantra was running like butter on a hot skillet. I guess you just never know how significant these car problems can be. Best of luck with your Porter!
