Hey, thanks for your reply and the info. It sounds like it was really serious in your case. Do you remember how much the repair cost you back then? And have you noticed anything else since then or is everything working fine again now? I really hope that I don't have to prepare myself for any major repairs. Thank you very much for your help!

Hi, of course, during my last visit to the mechanic it turned out that the electric fan cable was broken. Since it was repaired, everything has been running great. The cooling system is running again and the engine is no longer sweating. It cost me around 155€. I haven't noticed anything else so far and the car has been running perfectly. I hope this helps you and that it's nothing major. Fingers crossed, buddy!

That certainly sounds encouraging, thank you very much! I'm reassured to hear that you haven't had any further problems since the repair. 155€ is certainly better than a complete engine repair. I'll take your advice and get it checked out by the mechanic. Fingers crossed that it's as simple as that for me. Thanks again for your help and advice. Really much appreciated!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Jetta diesel. Last time at the garage they found that my air conditioning compressor was faulty and my car was also overheating. I assume it had something to do with the cooling system as a whole. The fan was actually not working properly, which was also causing the engine to overheat. So it's definitely a serious problem that better be fixed quickly. Hope this helps you!
