Hey, thanks for the insight! Who would've thought that a damaged cable harness could wreak such havoc? I wouldn't have considered that angle if you hadn't mentioned it. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you shell out for the repair? Did anything else crop up during the process? Just trying to be prepared for what's coming, you know? Cheers again for the help!
Hey there, absolutely no problem about the advice! Yeah, it's pretty wild how a damaged cable harness can turn things upside down. As for the repair costs, it ran me around €95.00 to get the damage to the cable harness sorted. Was a fair amount but totally worth it for the peace of mind, you know? Also, since I last saw my mechanic a little more quirk about the air mass sensor was revealed - turned out you were bang on the money with your suspicion! The mechanic fixed it as well, and now the ride's as smooth as ever. You might want to keep that in mind for your Hyundai. Other than that, nothing major cropped up after the fact, thankfully. It's always good to brace for any potential surprises but in my case, it was pretty much a straight shot. Hope that helps! Here's to hoping your car issues get sorted soon as well. Cheers!
Hey, thank you so much for the heads-up! You've put my mind at ease. €95.00 ain't a small sum, but if it gets the car running like it should, then it's a worthy investment. Especially considering the car's been acting up like it's got a mind of its own! And it's quite a relief to have been right about the air mass sensor, to be honest. At least I know I'm not totally off the mark here! Well, fingers crossed, I hope the issues get resolved without any problems. Your experience has definitely indicated to me that a solution is within reach! Really appreciate your feedback. Always helps to bounce these avenues off of others who've been there before. Going to reach out to my local mechanic with the inputs you've provided. Hoping for the best! Thanks again and happy motoring! Cheers!
Hey! I feel you. I own a 2010 Hyundai i20 and also had some trouble a while ago. My car behaved somewhat similarly - the engine light was all lit up, unusual power drops, kinda rough idle, the works. And yeah, there was that thing with the engine dying all of a sudden. I suspected something to do with the engine initially. I took it to my local garage, and after a thorough check, they told me it was an issue with the cable harness. It was damaged pretty badly. They had to replace the whole thing to get the car running smoothly again. I was surprised - never thought a damaged cable harness could mess up the car so much. But apparently, these are common symptoms. So don't rule it out. You might want to get that checked. And no worries, it sounds more serious than it is. It wasn't the end of the world or anything, just needed a quick fix. Hope this helps and you get your ride sorted soon!
