Hey there, Jeez, who knew a tiny light could wreak such havoc, right? Thanks for sharing your experience. It does seem like my Picanto is following in your Rio's footsteps. Bit gutted it's not just the throttle playing up. Just wondering - how much did the old wallet feel the pinch when they replaced your accelerator pedal module? And since they gave it the once over, has anything else popped up, or has your ride been pretty smooth sailing? I'm trying to get a sense of what I can expect for my own jittery four-wheeler. Appreciate the wisdom!
Hey! Tell me about it - it's a tiny light, but it can definitely ring alarm bells when it decides to light up! As for the wallet damage, fixing the accelerator pedal module set me back 265.00 €. Not a trifling sum by any means, but certainly worth the peace of mind. Ever since the mechanic worked their magic, it’s been a breeze. In fact, you've nailed it spot on with the "smooth sailing" part. And just to throw some more good news your way - that fault in the throttle valve you were worried about? It got sorted out in the same visit. So, you should expect your jittery Picanto to turn into a purring kitten once they're done with it. Remember, the thing with cars is, they're just like us - they need their check-ups and a bit of TLC every now and again. So go ahead and get your ride checked out. You'll feel a lot better when that pesky engine light is no longer a bother. Good luck! Keep us posted on how it pans out!
Hey! Firstly, thanks a load for bringing a bit of hope to this weary car owner. That price stings a bit, but as you rightly said, peace of mind comes at a cost! Good to know your issues were sorted in one go and it's been smooth sailing since. Absolutely agree with your sentiment about cars needing TLC, looks like my Picanto and my wallet are in for a bit of that! Heading over to get it checked out soon - fingers crossed it goes as well as it did for you. I'll keep you updated on how my jittery ride behaves post the garage visit. Cheers again, and happy smooth sailing!
Hey there similar thing happened two years back with my 2009 Kia Rio. I had that jerky motion coupled with the lovable check light trying to grab my attention. Sure enough, the culprit was the accelerator pedal module. At the garage, they did a diagnostic and found the electronics inside the module were acting up. To be honest, they couldn't pinpoint the exact component, but they ended up replacing the entire module. I reckoned it was just due to the usual wear and tear. They said it wasn't a rare occurrence, this could happen to high mileage cars. It was a serious bit of bother, but once they sorted it out, my car was as smooth as butter. Different model, similar issue - I reckon it's worth getting your Picanto checked for the same thing. Spare your little beast any unnecessary mess, steering away from throttle valve theories. Good luck and hope it's an easy fix!
