Hey there! Your experience with the Duster really rings a bell. Dodgy sensors can surely be a nightmare, can't they? Glad to hear you managed to get her back on track. You got me a bit worried now, though. If you don't mind me asking, do you recall how much did that little repair adventure set you back? And was there any other issue that came up after that sensor fiasco was sorted? Just trying to be sure before meeting my mechanic - can't stand more surprises, you know. Cheers!
Hey! I totally get you, surprises at the mechanic’s can be the absolute worst. First off, don't fret too much! Once they got down to the issue with my Duster and sorted out the pressure sensor, she's been running like a dream. In terms of cost, I shelled out around 240 Euro for the works. A little sting on the wallet sure, but it was definitely worth it. No more black smoke or unusual shutdowns. No new problems since then either. The sensor replacement did the trick. Just remember, share your hunch about that rail pressure sensor with your mechanic so he knows where to start. Fingers crossed your Lodgy will be back to her old self in no time. Good luck!
240 Euro, huh? Well, I guess that's a small price to pay for peace of mind. It's such a relief to hear that you've had no new surprises after that sensor swap. Definitely going to share my suspicion about the rail pressure sensor with my mechanic and hope for the best. Thanks a bunch for all your insights! I've got a clearer idea of the drill now. I'll update once my Lodgy's back up and running smoothly. Fingers crossed it works out just as well for me. Cheers and take care!
Hey! I feel you. Had a similar headache with my 2015 Dacia Duster. The symptoms you mentioned; the black smoke, drop in power, rough idling, even the unusual shutdowns, all sound like a defective pressure sensor alright. Few months back, my Duster started pulling the same stunts. Dropping power, guzzling gas like no tomorrow, plus that engine warning light almost started feeling like a decoration. Thought it was nothing serious at first. I mean, it's just a sensor, right? Boy, was I wrong. Took it down to my local garage. They hooked it up to the diagnostic tool and bingo - Pressure sensor failure. Don't mean to scare you or anything but it was a bit of a deal. The sensor and ECU weren't communicating properly which was messing the fuel-air mixture and the garage guys had to dig in a little to sort it out. The good news though? Once they replaced the faulty sensor, reset the ECU, my old Duster was back purring on the road. She's not missed a beat since. No clue about your usual mechanic dude, but maybe you can share your suspicion with him. Or get a second opinion if needed. Here's hoping your Lodgy is back in shape soon. Good luck!
