Heya, Your story does sound too familiar, almost like a deja vu with my Lexus LFA. I swear I never thought I'd trace all this chaos back to a weak battery! Thank heavens it's not something more serious. Just a couple of things though, you remember how much did you have to shell out to replace the alternator and recharge the battery? And has anything else wonky surfaced since the fix? Grateful for your assurance. Will definitely keep y'all posted. Cheers till then!
Hey there, Glad to hear my story could give you some reassurance! Yeah, cars can surely give us a headache sometimes but it's often not as bad as it first seems. About the costs - it came to around 290€ for the whole battery troubleshoot, somewhere thereabouts. Not a laughable sum of money for sure, but I felt it was reasonable considering the ordeal. And to your other question - nope, nothing else weird's cropped up since I got it fixed. I mean, the rear window defroster problem? Totally gone after a visit to the mechanic, if anything, the old girl's running smoother than ever. So, yeah, pretty satisfied all around. Looking forward to hearing how it goes with your Lexus LFA. Fingers crossed it's just the weak battery issue for you too. Cheers!
Hey! Can't thank you enough for the info. It does sound manageable and not as outrageous I feared. Just holding my breath hoping it's a similar case with my LFA as it was with your IS-F. 290€, eh? Yeah, not a giggle worthy amount but worth the relief if it gets sorted, right? Good to hear nothing dodgy has turned up for you post the fix. I'm reaching out to my garage soon and will report back with updates. Here's hoping it's just that gosh-darn battery acting up! Cheers till then!
Hey! I feel ya! I had a similar thing happening with my 2014 Lexus IS-F a while back. Also, petrol, so similar situation. The heated rear window wasn't working and there was a fault warning popping up. Long story short, the root of the problem was not the window heating itself - it was a weak/empty car battery, just like you suspect. The heated windows and some other functions were the first to go, they're pretty power-hungry y'know. When taking it to the garage, they found out the alternator wasn't properly charging the battery due to some failing parts. So they had to replace the alternator, then recharge the car battery and reset the vehicle's electrical system. It wasn’t the worst issue a car could have, although it did take a bit of work to get things running right. Don't get too stressed though. Hope this helps answering your question. Keep us posted on it! Cheers.
