Hey, cheers for the heads up! So, your experience does make me think it's probably an issue with the DPF on my Atenza as well. Out of curiosity, can you remember roughly how much the hit to your wallet was for fixing it? And did your Mazda behave itself since or were you hit with some other gremlins popping up here and there? Thanks again for the advice, much appreciated!
Hey, you got it! Yes, the Diesel Particulate Filter was indeed the joker causing all the mischief with my Mazda just like yours. The gang at the garage did an incredible job fixing it up. After sorting it, I gotta say she's been cruising and purring just like the old times, with none of the black smoke or stuttering. The DPF issue was definitely settled and those pesky problems certainly didn't make any more guest appearances. Ah, the dent in the wallet. It's never a nice topic, is it? Anyways, it cost me about 1550 Euro to sort out the internal defect in the Diesel Particulate Filter. Yes, it's a hefty price and by no means pocket change, but believe me it's worth every single cent when you see your ride back on the road again without a hitch. Hopefully, this gives you a ballpark figure on what you can expect. But remember, keep that road spirit up and good luck with your Mazda!
Hey. You're a lifesaver. Not exactly thrilled about the price – quite steep, but at least it gives me a realistic idea of what I might be up against. It's a relief to hear your Mazda's been behaving ever since. I really hope that mine will follow suit once this DPF issue's done and dusted. I mean, I do love that car, and despite this annoyance, I'm still not ready to say goodbye to my old beast. Your advice and shared experience really helped me calm my nerves. It always feels better to know that someone else been through the same, came out the other side and their car's still running strong. It's time to take the plunge and get it sorted once and for all. Fingers crossed it's all worth it. Thanks again for the guidance. You've been a great help! Here's to a smoother ride ahead. Cheers!
Hey! This definitely sounds like a problem I had with my 2007 Mazda Atenza not so long ago, revving weird and guzzling too much fuel. My DPF was also playing up, couldn't regenerate properly. Bloody pain. Went over to my local garage and the lads confirmed what I thought - Diesel Particulate Filter had an internal defect, exactly like your situation. It is indeed a serious issue, my. You know, the DPF plays a crucial role in reducing harmful emissions and when it goes, the results can be a nightmare. Sounds techie, but the filter traps and stores exhaust soot to reduce emissions from diesel cars. Believe me, you don't want to leave this. The team at the garage ended up replacing it cuz cleaning didn't do the job. After that my Mazda was running back to its old self. So, in my opinion, you gotta have it checked and fixed asap. Cheer up, these things happen, and most of the time it's just wear and tear. Wish you good luck with your ride!
