Hey Bummer about the ABS light, sounds like a gnarly issue. I had something similar with my 2011 Croma, ended up being the ABS control unit as well. I remember the punch to the wallet it was, but safety comes first right? I hate to be that guy, but I’m super curious – do you recall what you had to cough up for the control unit replacement on your Bravo? And since the fix, any similar ABS light problems or was that the end of it? Thanks for sharing your experience, it's a real life-saver. Cheers!
Hey, I totally chuckle at your "punch to the wallet" comment - sounds about right! Repairing the ABS control unit definitely wasn't cheap. If my memory serves, it set me back a cool 1000€. It was quite the sting but as we agreed, safety first, right? After they fixed the ABS control unit, no more issues to report - it's been smooth sailing since then. And you'd be glad to hear that the speed signal fault was also handled in the process. The mechanic had a good look at it, got it all sorted out. No more flashing warning lights! Hope your beast of a car gets well soon. Keep us posted, yeah? Cheers!
Hey. Thanks a ton for the detailed response and the much-needed humor! The guesswork around the repair cost was definitely causing some sleepless nights, so I'm glad you could shed some light there. Also, pretty relieved to hear your ABS issues were sorted after the control unit replacement, gives me hope for my old Fiat. I'll take your advice and buzz the mechanic right away - fingers crossed that it'll be a smooth ride thereon. And yes, I'll definitely keep you posted. Here's to no more warning lights or surprise system malfunctions! Cheers!
Hey there, I can feel your frustration. I own a 2013 Fiat Bravo, and I had a similar issue not too long ago. My ABS warning light was also on and the whole system was showing zero response. Keep in mind these kinds of issues need immediate attention, as they directly affect your safety on the road. During my trip to the garage, they figured out it was actually the ABS control unit malfunctioning. The cause of the malfunction can be various things, like faulty speed sensors, wiring issues, or even just a system glitch that might need a reset. In my case, they had to end up replacing the ABS control unit after identifying it as the cause. Remember, this sort of repair or replacement isn't something to be delayed. It's a serious issue, so it's best to have a reliable mechanic take a look into it as soon as possible. And don't worry too much about it - I'm sure they'll figure it out and get it fixed! Hope this helps, and good luck.
