2010 Fiat 500 Gasoline Engine Cruise Control Fault Issue: Seeking Troubleshooting Tips

Cruise control without function

Hey all, I've run into some trouble with my 2010 Fiat 500, Gasoline engine. Lately, the cruise control has stopped working and a fault code has popped up. I'm thinking the cruise control issue could be the culprit. Has anyone else had this problem before and got it sorted in a workshop? Appreciate any tips or guidance on troubleshooting this issue. Thanks!

Hey, my old 2008 Fiat Panda had a similar issue a while back. Not exactly a car expert, more like some level of experience, but I guessed it might be a cable connection flaw. Took it to a local workshop, and bingo, it was a defective cable connection! Cost me around 95 Euro to get it sorted. But in your case, could you share more details like if you've noticed the problem persisting in specific situations or after certain actions? More info might help me to give a better insight based on my past experience. Cheers.

Hey, thanks for your input! To answer your question, the problem with the cruise control seems to be pretty unusual - can't pinpoint any specific actions or situations that set it off. The only thing I noticed was that it started acting up after my latest service at 181,014km. And it's been acting weird ever since. Not sure if that helps or not, but I appreciate you trying to help me out with this. Cheers!

Hi again, Hmm, it's interesting that the issue started after your latest service. It could be something as simple as they accidentally knocked a wire loose or didn't reconnect it properly. Things like that can easily happen, especially on older cars. Given how unusual your problem is though, I'm wondering if the fault code could give us a clue about what's going on. If you've got a code reader, I'd recommend pulling the codes and seeing what they say. If not, taking it to a decent workshop and having them look into it might be your best bet. Similar to my situation before, they should be able to diagnose this and hopefully fix it without too much trouble. But remember, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg to sort my issue out, and hopefully, it's the same for you! Keep us updated, and good luck! Cheers.

Hey, that's a fair point. I haven't been able to get those codes yet, but based on your advice, I'll definitely try and get a reader to check that out. If I can't figure it out myself, guess the workshop will be my next stop. I'll try to update you once I have more information or hopefully solved the problem. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and experience, much appreciated! Cheers!
