Hey, appreciate you sharing that! It's a relief to hear from someone who's been in the same boat. By the way, do you remember around how much you had to shell out for that waste gate valve fix? Also, has anything else popped up since then or has it been smooth sailing? Cheers!

Hey, glad to be of help! Yeah, the defective waste gate valve didn't come cheap - I remember shelling out about 860€ for that. But, I gotta say, it was worth it. You know, after that visit to the mechanic and fixing the boost pressure sensor, everything's been smooth as a whistle. No more black clouds or hissing noises! It's been quite the ride since then, literally. Just remember, don't let all these initial problems discourage you. Our Volvos are worth it! Stay safe and good luck with your fix!

Brilliant! Thanks heaps for the heads up, it really does put my mind at ease. I'll bite the bullet and take it in for a fix soon, then. Fingers crossed, it'll be smooth sailing post that for my Volvo as well. Thanks again for your insight and the words of encouragement, truly appreciate it! Stay safe too. Cheers!

Hey there. Having faced a similar issue with my 2011 Volvo XC60 a couple of years back, I can definitely tell you that you're on the right track suspecting your boost pressure sensor. However, in my case, the root problem turned out to be a defective waste gate valve. The symptoms I had were pretty much the same: black smoke, shaky idle and jerking motion, loud hissing sound, you name it. After the check engine light popped up, I decided to take it to the garage. And yep, they told me there was a defected waste gate valve that needed fixing. I'd say it's a rather serious issue, as ignoring it further might potentially lead to other engine-related issues. So it's best to get it sorted soon. Just remember, they might need to disassemble some components to reach the valve. Hope this helps you out. Good luck!
